We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is privileged session management.""The tool has safe vaults. We keep our passwords in the Vault. The tool’s recording feature is also valuable for us.""Super stable and easy to scale""I love how easily we could operate within Password Vault and get things done. It was almost effortless.""CyberArk's GUI is user friendly.""The most valuable features of CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault are password vaulting and automatic rotation of passwords after use.""The password rotation and cyber gateway have been quite useful.""Thus far I can say technical support is excellent. We haven't had any issues or difficulties."

"Due to ransomware and novel threats, we can no longer allow people to gain domain admin access to our servers with only a username and password. With MFA, they must supply a one-time password sent to them via some authenticator, like Microsoft or Google Authenticator. It could be a text message.""One of the most valuable features is the self-service capability. I""Having multifactor authentication in Windows machines.""The solution provides wide options for multifactor authentication.""Monitoring is one of the most valuable features for us.""It's very simple to manage and implement. Its functions are straightforward. You get all the basic features, such as you get the option to unlock the user account if it is locked. You can enforce password policies, and you also have the option to allow them to reset their passwords if they forget it. These were the basic requirements of my company that we could achieve through this product.""The most valuable feature is the ability for remote users to change their login credentials using their mobile devices.""The solution enables agents to reset their passwords."

Cons
"I'd like it to be a little more granular. I want a little bit more control over exactly what we do. I know if you do that, you add more knobs and dials to deal with, but that's just my personal approach: granular access.""CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault's deployment is complex for resources with little experience. Tech support needs to be improved as well based on quality and knowledge.""I think they can improve account onboarding. For instance, you have to use the Password Vault utility, whereas in Thycotic I think there is a feature in the user interface that allows you to upload your account with an Excel file. So I'd like to have a similar thing in CyberArk.""Upgrading the product is very difficult, so this could be an area for improvement.""The technical support is very poor.""In the next release, they could simplify the setup and I would like some tasks added like file sharing. When a client connects to CyberArk and wants to put a file on the server, they cannot.""What needs to be improved in CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault is their customer support, particularly in terms of responsiveness, willingness to help, and being more understanding. The initial setup and upgrade process for the solution is complex and can only be done by CyberArk, so this is another area for improvement.""CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault can improve the distributive vault feature. Distributing the vault in multiple areas and multiple data centers should improve."

"There is a lack of specific information provided by the analytics portion of the software.""We need more reports for visualization.""The worst part is that the solution can only be installed or updated on a device if it is physically connected to the local network.""The price must be reduced.""They could improve their security of the products to prevent vulnerabilities.""Could be simplified, not user-friendly.""The registration process could be improved. It should be easier for users to register for the service."

    Overview

CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault, a vital component of the CyberArk Privileged Access Manager Solution (PAM), is designed to create, secure, rotate, and control access to privileged accounts and credentials used to access systems throughout an enterprise IT ecosystem. CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault enables enterprise organizations to better understand the scope of their privileged account risks and put controls in place to prevent malicious or inappropriate account or credential access.

CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault uses a Central Policy Manager protocol (CPM) to perform the basic password management functions.

    • Verify Password Task - The CPM will pull the password from the vault and use it to log into the application or device to verify that the password is indeed correct and satisfies all the password safety protocols.
    • Change Password Task - The CPM will pull the password from the vault and create a new password that meets all preset protocols. It will send it to the device or application and then begin the process of changing it, using the same method that might be performed manually. The CPM will then update the password in the vault.
    • Reconcile Password Task - This task is utilized when there is a failure in either the Verify Password Task or the Change Password Task. Using a pre-established reconcile account from the vault, the CPM will use the reconcile account credentials to reset or fix problematic password issues due to changed passwords not being updated properly, new accounts being established, or any other failure with the above tasks.

Enterprise organizations can utilize the easily adaptable policies and protocols to enforce granular privileged access controls, automate workflows, and rotate passwords at prescribed regular intervals without requiring any manual IT effort. Additionally, to satisfy compliance regulations, organizations can easily generate reports to prove that passwords are being changed regularly according to guidelines, meet strict password safety protocols, and report on which users accessed what privileged accounts, when, why, and what device they were using. Enterprise organizations can know at all times that data has remained secure at all times. CyberArk Password Vault will have enterprise organizations audit-ready at all times, keeping them safe and secure from risks while maximizing productivity and profitability.
