We performed a comparison between IBM SPSS Modeler and Microsoft Power BI based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Knime, Weka, IBM and others in Data Mining."We have been able to do some predictive modeling with it"
"It’s definitely scalable, it’s all on the same platform, it’s well integrated. I think the integration is important in terms of scalablility because essentially, having the entire suite helps a lot to scale it"
"It scales. I have not run into any challenges where it will not perform."
"In the solution, I like the virtualization of data flow since it shows what goes where, which is mostly the strength of the tool."
"Stability is good."
"The most valuable features of the IBM SPSS Modeler are visual programming, you don't have to write any code, and it is easy to use. 90 to 95 percent of the use cases, you don't have to fine-tune anything. If you want to do something deeper, for example, create a better neural network, then you have to go into the features and try to fine-tune them. However, the default selection which is made by the tool, it's very practical and works well."
"The quality is very good."
"Compared to other tools, the product works much easier to analyze data without coding."
"Allows business users with a mission to solve their own problems, without an IT person."
"We encourage end users to use Power BI because it's quite easy for them to interact with the menus and the navigation bar. Even for ordinary users, they can create their own dashboard using Power BI."
"What I like about Power BI is how fast you are able to create dashboards and how fast you are able to fetch the data. You can connect to the database or data source, and then you can design your dashboards very easily."
"Implementation is very quick and the solution is very user-friendly."
"It is very good, and it supports the Microsoft ecosystem, including Excel, etc."
"It works well with SSAS, which we use to generate all different kinds of trending and analytics reports. Sometimes we use Power Query and DAX to build some aggregations on the Power BI side as well."
"The dashboard features are really valuable, you can connect to multiple data points."
"Easy to use and the visualization is valuable."
"We would like to see better visualizations and easier integration with Cognos Analytics for reporting."
"It is very good, but slow. The slowness may be because we have not finalized all the background information in SPSS. It still needs some tweaking."
"Customer support is hard to contact."
"C&DS will not meet our scalability needs."
"It's not as user friendly as it could be."
"If IBM could add some of the popular models into the SPSS for further analysis, like popular regression models, I think that would be a helpful improvement."
"The product does not have a search function for tags."
"I think mapping for geographic data would also be a really great thing to be able to use."
"The solution could improve by simplifying the user interface and adding integration or compatibility with APA."
"Real-time updating needs improvement."
"The reporting part of Microsoft BI is rather limited compared to other reporting tools."
"The smart phone application could be improved, along with better graphics and faster updating."
"It would be nice to use other connectors to link with the data."
"It should be more scalable for an enterprise-level implementation. When you deploy large data sets, the response has to be faster in Power BI. This is one thing that needs to be improved in it."
"Some kind of expression wizard, where the user can build a complex expression without any knowledge of DAX, can be a good addition to the product."
"The solution could benefit by allowing deeper data analytics."
