"Splunk's interface is user-friendly, and it has apps and add-ons for most applications. We can easily normalize the data to make it readable and understand the logs. We easily get all the field extractions and enrichment done by using the apps and add-ons. This helps us understand the application logs because the raw data is useless unless we extract some useful information from it. These add-ons make it so much easier.""You can run reports against multiple devices at the same time. You are able to troubleshoot a single application on a thousand servers. You can do this with a single query, since it is very easy to do.""It has reduced the time to resolution, time to investigate, and time to troubleshoot for debugging issues.""Easy to deploy and simple to use.""Splunk UBA is useful for fraud detection and for detection of APTs, advanced persistent threats.""The solution is stable and reliable.""The initial setup is simple, not very complex. Initial deployment takes around 10 to 15 minutes to set up the entire base for Splunk including all three tiers.""The most valuable features of the solution are it is straightforward to use and the documentation is good for finding out how to get the data you are looking for."

Cons
"This is an expensive product, so making it more cost-effective would be an improvement.""The dashboard could improve in IBM Watson for Cyber Security.""In the future, I would like to see threat intelligence included.""They need to continue to build the AI capabilities."

More IBM Watson for Cyber Security Cons →

"While Splunkbase (the app repository) has a lot of great content, some apps are terribly old and could stand to be updated or purged.""The CIM model is the method Splunk uses to normalize data and categorize its important parts, but it is quite complex.""It can be tough to get a hold of somebody in technical support depending on the complexity of the issue.""There are a lot of competitive products that are doing better than what Splunk is doing on the analytics side.""Spam has different plugins but by default, the logs are not organized, it shows that there are roll-ups that are out of the box. I saw many plugins that can help improve or extend Splunk's functionality but I haven't tried any of them.""The UI can be improved. Dashboards and reports can be better in terms of graphics.""It is a challenge to manage the environment in such a way, that one’s log, even with the bandwidth license, isn’t exceeded.""The support and the pricing can be better"
