It is also easy to work with Terraform as a code.""The product integrates well with our infrastructure.""The solution is embedded in the hypervisor and there are no deployment costs.""We can do a lot of provisioning.""The technical support is excellent.""The most valuable features of the Nutanix Kubernetes Engine (NKE) are its simplicity and efficiency during the initial cluster creation phase."

"The most valuable features are the monitoring and logging functionalities.""The architecture is the best. The solution is scalable if you are on a container-based solution.""The software is user-friendly and straightforward to use, which is favorable to a developer.""The usability and the developer experience. The platform has a centralized consultant that is easy to use for our development, operations and security teams.""Openshift is a very developer-friendly product.""On OpenShift, it's easy to scale applications. We can easily scale up or scale down.""The stack in the software supply chain is one of the main reasons that we use OpenShift. Cons
"I would like to have more nodes for availability and storage.""GUI lacks sufficient information to help with understanding the installation and process.""There have been challenges related to software bugs, especially regarding long-term licensing options and issues within our customer network.""Areas for improvement in Nutanix Kubernetes Engine (NKE) include upgrading management capabilities and enhancing the user interface for improved usability.""The product lacks some virtualization capabilities, making it an area for improvement where the solution can focus on providing users with more virtualization capabilities related to disk systems.""I have issues with the product's interoperability.""We need a backup of production clusters.""In the next release, I would like to have automatic dynamic scaling, both upscaling and downscaling."

"In my experience, the issues are not always simply technical. They do stem from technical challenges, but they struggle with the topic of adoption. When you encounter all of the customer pull, there are normally several tiers of your client pop that can adopt either the fundamental features or a little more advanced ones. The majority of the time, the challenge is determining how to drive adoption, how to sell the product to the customer, and how much time they can spend to really utilize those advanced features. If we get into much more detail, but this is from my perspective as the platform engineer and not the end customer, the ability of the end user to be able to debug potential issues with their application That is arguably the most important, let's say, work throughput in my area.""Getting the solution quickly and troubleshooting quickly are both areas where I think it needs some work.""I believe that the documentation part is an area with certain shortcomings where improvements are required.""Whenever we onboard or deploy services that talk to Oracle Database, they take a lot of time to become active and serve the incoming request, so it would be good to see some improvement here. This could be an OpenShift issue or an internal network problem within our organization.""My impression is that this solution is pretty expensive so I think the pricing plan could improve.""OpenShift Container Platform needs to work on integrations.""The solution needs to introduce open ID connect integration for role-based access control.""I believe OpenShift Container Platform can improve in networking, architecture, and cloud areas by reducing deployment time, lowering costs, and streamlining engineer resources"

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The product's licenses are included in the software version deployed in our data center."
  • "I rate the product price a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
  • "I rate NKE's pricing a six out of ten."
  • "The platform is averagely priced. I rate the pricing as four out of ten."

  • "OpenShift with Red Hat support is pretty costly. We have done a comparison between AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Services) which provides fully managed services from AWS. It's built on open-source-based Kubernetes clusters and it is much cheaper compared to Red Hat, but it is a little expensive compared to ECS provided by AWS."
  • "It depends on who you're talking to. For a large corporation, it is acceptable, other than the significant infrastructure requirements. For a small organization, it is in no way suitable, and we'd go for Amazon's container solution."
  • "The license to use the OpenShift Container Platform is free. If you are capable with Java you can modify it."
  • "The price is slightly on the higher side. It is something that can be worked on because most of the businesses now have margins."
  • "The pricing is a bit more expensive than expected."
  • "We paid for Cloud Pak for integration. It all depends on how many VMs or how many CPUs you are using. They do the licensing based on that."
  • "We currently have an annual license renewal."
  • "It largely depends on how much money they earn from the application being deployed; you don't normally deploy an app just for the purpose of having it. You must constantly look into your revenue and how much you spend every container, minute, or hour of how much it is working."
