Find out in this report how the two Firewalls solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Fortinet FortiGate's most valuable features are ease of use, flexibility, and most of the configuration we can be done using the GUI. When we compare Fortinet FortiGate with other solutions the firewall policy are very easy to understand."
"One of the valuable features is a standardized OS."
"We are using the FortiGate 100D series. VPN, firewall, anti-malware, OTM, and intrusion prevention are useful features."
"The pricing is excellent. It's much less expensive than Cisco."
"Fortinet FortiGate is a stable solution."
"Reliability is the best feature. We faced some issues when we were setting it up, but the service, portal, and administration are good."
"The security features that they have are quite good. On top of that, their licensing model is quite nice where they don't charge you anything for the SD-WAN functionality for the firewall."
"The base firewall features are quite valuable to us."
"We can utilize our own network rather than paying for a private one."
"I think Sangfor NGAF is more valuable than Cisco products because of its simplicity and ease of management. If I compare it with Palo Alto and Cisco, both are quite complex products. And if I compare it with FortiGate firewalls from Fortinet, I have also used all these products. Fortinet and Sangfor NGAF are similar products because the applications behind the application and policy layers are almost identical."
"It's a very simple to use product."
"The VPN connectivity feature is really nice."
"It is a stable solution."
"The built-in features function as intended, providing exceptional value."
"The most valuable features are the WAN optimization, the internet access gateway (IAG), and the central console, which allows us to implement on their firewall."
"Sangfor has the best capabilities for securing connections, securing web browsers, securing servers, and general threat protection."
"One of the most valuable features is the VPN."
"Great reporting feature and great customer support."
"Valuable features include: the ease of setting up the VPN connection; the fact they have the cloud management option, so I can manage the firewall on a cloud platform from anywhere I am; the user interface is very user-friendly, so it's very easy for the administrator to make any policy changes."
"The antivirus features are valuable."
"Reporting is the most valuable feature."
"The SD-WAN feature stands out as the most valuable aspect."
"The most valuable feature of Sophos XG is the VBM."
"We've deployed quite a number for our users and our customers, and the feedback is quite positive in terms of management and also administration."
"The integration with third-party tools may be something that they should work on."
"There are problems with the custom reporting of the unique traffic. The data is there, but it is too difficult for us to extract."
"We were not able to build a full-mesh VPN; however, I am not sure if this was the fault of Fortinet FortiGate."
"Palo Alto has a feature called WildFire Analysis that is unavailable in FortiGate. WildFire is better than a sandbox because it can address zero-day threats and vulnerabilities. It can immediately identify zero-day threats from the cloud."
"Web security solutions can be improved."
"I would like Fortinet to add more automation to FortiGate."
"We would like to see better pricing."
"They should make the rule sets more understandable for the end user. When you're trying to explain to somebody how a computer network is secured, sometimes it's difficult for an end user or customer to understand. If there was a way to make the terminology more accessible to the end user, the set up could be easier. They should translate the technical jargon to an easily relatable and understandable conversation for the end user, the customer, that would be brilliant. Particularly in an environment where the IT structure is audited regularly, there's always pressure from the auditor to up the standards and up the security and you get your USCERT's that come out and there's a warning about this and the customer will want to lock out so much and when you apply it they run into issue where they can't search the internet or print to their remote office. Of course they can't print to your remote office, they just locked it up. They should make the language more understandable for the customer. If there's a product out there that made the jargon understandable to John Q. Public, I would buy that."
"Sangfor NGAF could improve the policies and default criteria. They could be much better."
"They need to increase the number of ports in the firewall."
"The GUI needs to be improved, lacks logic in some areas."
"I would be happy if Sangfor developed a firewall designed specifically for home use, as well as for small businesses such as clinics and so on. A household version of the Sangfor firewall for your personal computer or laptop would be ideal, in my opinion."
"The web interface needs to be improved, making it more user-friendly."
"I believe that IAM and NGFW need to merge into a single box, instead of there being two separate box solutions."
"An area of improvement for Sangfor NGAF could be in the field of reporting and logging."
"They need to improve their research team and they need to study their data to analyze it and build the product."
"Content filtering could be more effective and efficient."
"There's an IP address delivery for our VPN client and a limited range of IP addresses. So this is a problem in the latest firmware release, but rather than using homework scenarios, we need a lot of VPN clients."
"The SD-WAN could be improved."
"Their tech support is not great."
"SD-WAN needs to be improved because it often fails at the network security level."
"Even though things work on the back end, we have encountered bugs in the solution."
"We are not very happy with the customer support they provide — it's quite slow."
"There could be some room for improvement in its pricing since my clients usually feel like the product is on the expensive side."
