We performed a comparison between SAP Analytics Cloud and SAS Visual Analytics based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two BI (Business Intelligence) Tools solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."There is a seamless integration with SAP S4HANA which is really valuable to our organization and its functions. Since the data is stored in the same ecosystem, it creates a simple process of building dashboards, without making the process cumbersome The Analytics Cloud provides standardized templates and storage options, making it easy to plug into existing structures. We're utilizing custom stories that have already been developed, streamlining the development process. It serves as a convenient starting point and contributes to the overall ease of development. Another advantage is that it doesn't provide the same level of calculation power as Power BI and Tableau. SAP Analytics Cloud emphasizes pushing analytics back into the database, recommending data manipulation and preparation outside of the platform. This approach is seen as an advantage, as it allows for more robust data handling."
"Data integration is very good."
"One of the most outstanding features is being able to use the dashboard with a touch screen."
"Planning and integration are the most valuable features. It is useful for planning, and it is useful for integrating with on-prem or cloud SAP solutions."
"The Smart Predict, Smart Insights, and Smart Discovery predictive analysis features are quite good."
"The most valuable feature of the tool is machine learning."
"Offers both business intelligence as well as inbuilt AI and machine learning capabilities."
"The most useful feature of SAP Analytics Cloud is planning because it helps users with making predictions and forecasts. Clients can forecast, make data allocations, and other actions. The solution is useful for planning."
"I use Visual Analytics for enterprise reporting."
"It's relatively simple to create basic dashboards and reports."
"The flexibility of the configuration is valuable to me."
"It integrates well with SAS, making it simple and quick for developers."
"The alert generation feature also helps in sending out ad hoc messages to the business users if business thresholds have been crossed."
"It's a stable, reliable product."
"We've found the product to be stable and reliable."
"The most solution's notable aspect, in my view, is the ability to integrate various data sources and harness advanced technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence. This helps with quality assurance processes."
"However, there are areas of improvement, particularly in terms of visualization. The front-end interface of SAP Analytics Cloud is not as impressive as Tableau and Power BI. The charts in other solutions have a more visually appealing and customizable look, while in SAP Analytics Cloud, there's a lack of alignment between numbers and charts. This graphical aspect, especially concerning charts, is not as satisfactory in SAP Analytics Cloud compared to its counterparts."
"The price, integration, and modeling capabilities could be better. I have to use an integration engine to integrate our products and databases. SAP Analytics Cloud is made specifically for KPIs and business intelligence. The modeling capabilities are kind of poor. You always have to model the data and then present it visually in SAP Analytics Cloud. In the next release, I would like to have a lite version for planning to create scenarios quickly. For me personally, planning is the most complicated feature of SAP Analytics Cloud."
"Figuring out how to navigate all of the products around Data Warehouse Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud and BW for HANA is quite difficult."
"In the live connection model, we can't create calculated dimensions, however, in the import model we can create them."
"An area for improvement in SAP Analytics Cloud is its planning feature because it's not that efficient when compared to BPC. Another area for improvement in the solution is the difficulty in building reports or dashboards, particularly if you don't have proper knowledge of the BI system. SAP Analytics Cloud technical support also needs improvement."
"I would like to see reporting to the Analytics cloud directly."
"The budget management could be better."
"Currently only one data modeler can work at a time."
"The charts and tables could use better sorting, primarily using other variables than the ones on the figure. If they could implement views like in the older version (previous to Viya), it would be very nice."
"I haven't come across any missing features."
"The licensing ends up being more expensive than other options."
"The solution is a little weak at the front end."
"The visualization should be better in SAS Visual Analytics. It is easy to use but when compared to other solutions it is lacking and the support is not very good."
"In Brazil, there are few documents, courses, and other resources for studying and implementing the tool."
"It is not as mature as competitors such as Tableau and QlikView."
"Better connectivity with other data origins, better visualization, and the ability to create KPIs directly would all help."
