System Administrator at a real estate/law firm with 201-500 employees
The most valuable feature is really the reason for the product and that is monitoring activity. The product gives us a lot of information. There are a lot of reports. It takes all the audits correctly. It monitors all the management activities such as user management and group management — everything that we need to know is monitored. You also get a file auditor, which is a very good feature. From this, we get a lot of information like what files are added, which files have been edited, what files have moved, and what files have been deleted. It is complete file monitoring. We also have the workstation audit component installed so we can see login activities, local user work hours — like how many hours they worked with particular things. We are collecting all that data and we are able to review all of that information. View full review »

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Adfontessoftware
The most valuable feature of the product is the monitoring capability. Basic infrastructure monitoring is a good start for using the product. For example, I like Microsoft monitoring and various components like SharePoint and Active Directory, which can be very important. But also it is very useful for monitoring Microsoft SQL Server environments. That only covers the surface approach to monitoring applications and servers. You can also monitor the underlying infrastructure. For example, you can monitor hardware components such as the health of your servers so that you know if they are functioning optimally or if they have some type of performance issue or failure. You can go a step further to get deeper insight into specific components. But it is a very good thing to start with APM (Application Performance Management) and to get into monitoring the underlying infrastructure of your system so you are aware of its condition. Technical Manager of Security at Liberty Global
It's valuable to us in that it resembles the native tools that most people have grown accustomed to. Most people come from another company where they may have not used Active Roles. Active Roles resembles traditional tools, such as from Microsoft. That is really good because it eases the way people to interact with the tool. The AD and AAD management features of this solution are really good. They're better than the native tools. They offer added value by showing more fields such as password age and the statuses of some things that we normally wouldn't see. What I really like is the fact that we have the mailbox and the user information all on one screen. With native tools, you need two tools to show that information. View full review »
