- Great User Interface and ease of checking all your artifacts of Testing. - Makes optimal use of Model-based Test practice in getting Object-references from the application. - Script-less, so less maintenance headache for non-technical users also. - Drag and drop functionality to create and re-use your Test Cases - Excellent re-use of Excel functionality for formulas and functions. - Conditions which let the test case branch off from the Template. Helps work out different scenario's for data. - Has been tried out on SAP, Oracle Apps and IBM COGNOS BI applications. With a few tweaks works well with these applications. - IF and LOOP statements introduced with the latest version. - Improved performance of Web Based Tests. WHILE LOOP and IF made better and more responsive with added error recovery options. - Intuitive based options available, along with a rudimentary record and play functionality. - Next version will even have the visualization tools required to see the interconnections between the TCD and the Test Cases, along with the workflow in the TCD and Tests. - New and improved visualization for multiple browsers and a totally new Wizard with TBox out of Box support has been added to the latest (v9.2) of TOSCA Commander. - Access to Business Intelligence (BI) features of comparing a DB to another one, also have been added as plugins. - Access to a Analytical Engine to view and get reports from the Test Runs. They have a feature where they can record traffic and create tests on the report traffic. That is one of the most valuable features that we've found. So we can run our UI automation tests and directly create services tests from that, which is really, really helpful. View full review »

One of the concepts offered with this solution is called Productization. This concept allows you to bundle the APIs together and present them to clients as products, which allows you to configure the API with restricted access for different clients. An example of this would be Client A is granted access as read-only and able to do a few updates, whereas Client B would have full access to the APIs. You can configure different products for them in such a way that one of the products would have limited access, and the other would be granted full access. You are not creating another API, rather you are using the same proxy with limited access to the proxy. This is one of the features that has helped us a lot. We have APIs that we use internally and externally for clients outside of our network using the cloud with a SaaS solution that needs to access our API. The same API we use internally is the same API we expose externally. The level of security is different for internal applications and for external applications. To accommodate both we use the same API but add additional security features to the APIs. View full review »

Testprofessional at a tech services company with 51-200 employees
* Fast and easy automated tests for UI * Interfaces (SOAP, REST) * Additional database queries * Easy validations on responses (soap, rest, json, sql, Gui) Most valuable for us is the combination of all these items in one solution for us. Broad user story scenario's from A to Z, though a chain of systems, including test data prerequisites. The next most valuable benefit over the past year is the possibility to use the tooling for continuous testing purposes, using the server-side run option 'as a web service' for (nightly) batch runs. Bid Manager - Expert Continuous Testing at Sogeti UK
The solution is script-less, so you don't need IT knowledge to use the solution in an operational way. This is the most valuable feature. It's also only one of two or three tools that can do good automation on SAP, and in my opinion, it's the best of those. The test sheet is very good. There are algorithms that allow you to generate various test cases that guarantee maximum coverage. View full review »

The most valuable feature of this solution is Collections. It perfectly suits a microservice factor. The workspace is very useful. You can save configurations in their cloud so that you can access them from home, or at the office because you log in to the same account. You don't have to recreate them. View full review »

Global QA Manager at a financial services firm with 1,001-5,000 employees
The most valuable features are * Tosca BI * Tosca Commander. Tosca BI is important to make sure that our data integrity is in check and validated; to make sure our data is good. Our data is the number-one important driver for our company, so if that's not good, we have some big problems. Tosca Commander lets any test cases that are UI driven validate, and tests the UI and expected results. Also, the nice thing about the model's solution is that we're able to build out the modules within Tosca, to facilitate ease of maintaining the test cases. It allows one spot to do an update and that flows through all the test cases that need to be updated. View full review »

The Keyword feature is very good to use in your test cases. There are lots of inbuilt Keyword features already there to use, and one can write their own for use in respective test cases. Less Java knowledge is required to write a keyword. This solution is very user-friendly to learn and implement, and less technical knowledge is required to handle automation. View full review »

This solution is written in Groovy, which means that we can write Groovy scripts that work with it. We can write code in Java and it is easy to link to other JARs that we find on the internet, which is very handy. From a user's perspective, this solution is better than Micro Focus UFT. The documentation for this solution could be improved. However, it is a freeware, and the documentation is still better than that of UFT. View full review »

Risk-based testing, test optimization, and support for over one hundred technologies are some of the most important capabilities of the platform. Many may argue that the same can be achieved by other tools as well, but not all within the same platform. The ease of maintainability is also a differentiating factor. View full review »

Easy to learn, I don't need to have any expertise in software development. This tool has a custom chat in the IDE, a good tutorial, and I can always update the solution. I like to work with Gherkin language, and I think that I can have results very soon with Selenium. On the other hand, in the same framework, I can work with web applications, mobile applications or web services, and I can record a test in one browser and run it in another browser.
