Muntaser Zalloum says in a Talend Open Studio review
Software Engineer at a tech services company with 51-200 employees
Talend as an ETL tool is very powerful. It allows for a lot of connections to any database source. The connectivity was one of the main reasons we started working with Talend. It's easy and user-friendly. It has most of what I want as a technical or nontechnical. Anything I need, I can find it in Open Studio. You can use Talend as a stand-alone application without customization to collect data and generate reports over dashboards. It's got great functionality. View full review »
Alireza Nikseresht says in a SSIS review
CEO at Shiraz University
Usually, when I want to import data from other databases I use this solution. It's been about fifteen years that I've worked with an SQL server, and I'm a software developer. I've had many companies with different databases, and it's ranged from FoxPro, EDX and Oracle, and some other databases. When I want to import data I usually use this tool for importing data from the other databases to the server. It is really good, and it's solved many problems for me because I can choose the source table, destination table, source field, and destination field. I can match these things, I can write some queries to do this and because of that, I use this tool. View full review »

Ken Ramirez says in a Spring Cloud Data Flow review
Senior Digital Architect at a manufacturing company with 501-1,000 employees
The ability to offer a graphical environment in order to visualize the stream is extremely important. It not only helps to see how the stream is composed but also helps to share those ideas and flows with other members of your team. The simplicity of using off-the-shelf components that plug into the data flows is also very valuable, as this helps to reduce the time you’ll need to spend reinventing the wheel and creating those common patterns. The ease of developing custom components that can plug into the ecosystem is also extremely valuable. View full review »

* Lineage * Provenance * Flow of data through various sources * Data domain discovery to find out sensitive data. One thing we find very useful is a feature which lets us know who are the stakeholders of a particular data source, and if you are making any changes to a source, then which users must be informed prior. Rodrigo Radtke De Souza says in an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) review
Solutions Architect at a tech consulting company with 51-200 employees
ODI has the ability to connect to virtually any technology out there. If it does not connect out-of-the-box, we can very easily add a new technology into it. This flexibility gives a tremendous developmental advantage to its users, which can use ODI as the official ETL tool for any kind of integration project. Its Knowledge Modules (KMs) may abstract the “how” portion of integrations, allowing the users to focus on the “what” that needs to be done. It can be easily used by either young ETL developers or expert professionals. For resumes, the ease of use for young professionals and its great development flexibility for expert professionals make it a great product to be used for every ETL project out there. Talend Studio has the ability to connect to almost anything to integrate data from files, databases, web services, etc. View full review »
Kirill Slivchikov says in an Informatica PowerCenter review
Owner at 7Spring Consult
The most complex task, in this case, was to read and transform BLOB data, and Java transformation in Informatica Power Center was a great solution. The second task that was solved with Java transformation was the correct transformation of the Amount field (each amount in PSQL 2000 is stored in three different fields). These tasks were solved by using PSQL 2000 Java SDK library imported to Informatica PowerCenter Java Transformation. View full review »

Amro Mourad says in an Oracle GoldenGate review
Senior Oracle Database Admin at mrcc
I signed with Oracle to use GoldenGate for this project five months ago. I needed two or three months just to explore GoldenGate to get to know it and the features. There are many awesome features in GoldenGate and from what I see in the case studies, I need some more months of discovery to know what I think are the most valuable features. If you call me a month from now, I will be able to answer the question as to which of the excellent features are the most valuable. Right now it would be that I have confidence that GoldenGate can handle this extensive project. View full review »
