Compare the best Data Mining vendors based on product reviews, ratings, and comparisons.
All reviews and ratings are from real users, validated by our triple authentication process.
The total ranking of a product, represented by the bar length, is based on a weighted aggregate score.
The score is calculated as follows: The product with the highest count in each area gets the highest available score.
(20 points for Reviews; 16 points for Views, Comparisons, and Followers.)
Every other product gets assigned points based on its total in proportion to the #1 product in
that area. For example, if a product has 80% of the number of reviews compared to the product
with the most reviews then the product's score for reviews would be 20% (weighting factor) *
80% = 16. For Average Rating, the maximum score is 32 points awarded linearly based on our
rating scale of 1-10. If a product has fewer than ten reviews, the point contribution
for Average Rating is reduced (one-third reduction in points for products with 5-9 reviews;
two-thirds reduction for products with fewer than five reviews). Reviews that are more than 24 months old,
as well as those written by resellers, are completely excluded from the ranking algorithm.
I think the ease of use in the user interface is the best part of it. The ability to customize some of my streams with R and Python has been very useful to me, I've automated a few things with that. We don't use SPSS Modeler for governance or... more»
The benefits are that this product makes us a more efficient sales staff. We're reducing the inefficiencies in the buying patterns of our customers, by calling them when we know they're ready to order, instead of waiting for them to call us.... more»
Like I said, I'm really excited about the enhanced visualization that I know is coming down the pipeline. That, to me, has always been the biggest flaw in using this. It's very difficult to get good visualization. I think mapping for... more»
All the statistical models that you are able to access. We have integration where you can write third-party apps. This sort of feature opens it up to being able to do anything you want. It gives you a GUI interface, which is a lot more... more»
It has provided us a lot of small wins that we could bring to our leadership and it has given them confidence with what we were doing in regards to analytics. We have used this to help us pursue bigger, better products, such as IBM PureData.... more»
The platform that you can deploy it on needs improvement because I think it is Windows only. I do not think it can run off a Red Hat, like the server products. I am pretty sure it is Windows and AIX only. Every company is looking at solutions... more»
On the selfish side, possibly advancing my career. But, really, I would say the big thing is being able to utilize some data streams that we haven't tapped into, or maybe not successfully, and being able to produce something that's... more»
It hasn't yet, it's still under PoC. What I can say is that, of all the directors and senior managers, senior directors, and SVPs that have seen the MVP, they've been quite surprised and very positive about what it's been able to produce.
I haven't played with it in depth enough really to answer this so much. The scheduling is always tricky when you're trying to get a big group together. People are people, so unless you can improve the people, we're talking process, so...
We are creating models and putting them into production much faster than we would if we had gone with a strictly, code-based solution, like R or Python. In the time it takes to write the code to build one model, I am building three models... more»

We're still in the exploratory stages. We're a business partner for IBM's customers, so we're wrapping our hands around it to be able to explain it and show the value to customers. We haven't been able to really take this to market much with... more»
Much of IBM operates this way, where they have sets of tools that are in the middleware space, and it becomes the customer's responsibility or the business partner's responsibility to develop full solutions that take advantage of that... more»
Implementing the solution really helped with manual labor, it takes care of a lot of FT work. For example, you could have 30 or 40 physical inspectors doing fraud detection, versus using this to get there, to take care of it.
I would say, give some kind of a community edition, a free edition. A lot of companies do, even Amazon gives you some kind of trial and error opportunities. If they could provide something like that, it would be good.
I don't use it for governance and security issues or for visual modeling. For data visualization we use ThoughtSpot, Tableau, Power BI. In terms of the graphic capability, those are existing platforms that have a larger user base, so it's unlikely that we'll use Modeler exclusively for data visualization.
I really can't think of anything off the top of my head because I feel like I'm under utilizing it as it is, because we're doing specific things. Two or three years ago, I would've said R and Python integration, but they've done that.
It would be beneficial if the tool would include more well-known machine learning algorithms. However, IBM already started to include several of these algorithms by implementing Python code. Plus, each user is capable of implementing his/her... more»

It handles large data better than the previous system that we were using, which was basically Excel and Access. We serve upwards of 300,000 parts over a 150 regions and we need to crunch a lot of numbers.
The speed of the system could be improved, but I think that will be fixed once we get our data in line. I do not what additional features that I would like to see in the next release as I am still learning the features in this release!
* Automated data preparation, cleansing, and imputation of missing data. * Some basic form of feature engineering for classification models, automated binning, etc. This really quickens the model development process. * Automated modelling,... more»

What do you think of IBM Watson Explorer?
Primary Use Case
I'm working on development of an application with a bank, Banco Bradesco, and they use it to integrate with Watson. It's a new technology for the bank and they continue learning technical and other skills for this technology, to apply this app in the future, to integrate with other technologies in the bank as well.
• Improvements to My Organization
The new feature of the application is voice commands, and last week the bank began marketing to educate, to talk to people about voice commands in the app; that it is a new feature in the bank's apps.
• Valuable Features
Today, integration of voice commands is the focus of development.
• Room for Improvement
In the next three months, Bradesco will start to working with the AIX operating system. Today it is...
