The total ranking of a product, represented by the bar length, is based on a weighted aggregate score. The score is calculated as follows: The product with the highest count in each area gets the highest available score. (20 points for Reviews; 16 points for Views, Comparisons, and Followers.) Every other product gets assigned points based on its total in proportion to the #1 product in that area. For example, if a product has 80% of the number of reviews compared to the product with the most reviews then the product's score for reviews would be 20% (weighting factor) * 80% = 16. For Average Rating, the maximum score is 32 points awarded linearly based on our rating scale of 1-10. If a product has fewer than ten reviews, the point contribution for Average Rating is reduced (one-third reduction in points for products with 5-9 reviews; two-thirds reduction for products with fewer than five reviews). Reviews that are more than 24 months old, as well as those written by resellers, are completely excluded from the ranking algorithm.

What is most valuable?

Secure USB has allowed us to secure USB ports on our PCs, thus improving our PSN compliance. The main selling point is that it's centralized. We can easily control which system should have access to what and we’re also able to produce a... more»

How has it helped my organization?

I no longer have to use a dedicated WSUS server, everything is properly scheduled including the ability to get reports via e-mail. Everything is administered using a web interface. It’s an all-in-one solution not just for patches but for... more»

What needs improvement?

I would like the deployment window time to be reduced as it currently requires a minimum of three hours. The automated patch deployment should stick to its own schedule. The web interface is sometimes confusing and requires improvement,... more»

What is most valuable?

Valuable features with Jamf include asset management and application/patch management. I can set policies to manage devices by many variables OR keep it simple by leveraging DEP to assign new devices the standard apps.

How has it helped my organization?

It’s a useful tool for a larger organization to manage its Apple Devices. Jamf has improved the function by putting support to unknown devices. My workplace had bought a lot of iPads outside of DEP without a good method to track them. What... more»

What needs improvement?

Jamf could improve versioning as in outright blocking OS upgrades OR improving maintaining every application’s update feature. As of now, only some apps, like Flash, have managed updates. The rest will need some clever work to keep updated,... more»

What is most valuable?

Gives us the ability to manage Apple devices remotely. We have users spaced throughout the country. There is support for Apple updates from day one. Jamf works closely with Apple, so they are ready to support new updates whenever Apple pushes... more»

How has it helped my organization?

We now make less on-site visits. Jamf has self-service, where you can upload packages and scripts that anybody using a company owned Apple device can use. Users are less dependent on IT.

What needs improvement?

The technical support needs improving. Not everyone is a master of Jamf and knows the ins and outs of the software. It would be great to have people who have more than a basic understanding of the software. I think it would be best if Jamf... more»

What do you think of ManageEngine Desktop Central?

Valuable Features What is valuable for us is the ability to manage Windows OS, Mac OS, and Linux OS on a single console. This also includes push applications, patches, and configurations on all three platforms. • Improvements to My Organization We are able to manage all user operating systems on a single console. • Room for Improvement Management of Mac OS X, Linux OS, and encryption. We would like this to be on par with how Windows OS is managed. Also, the reporting feature could be more flexible. • Use of Solution We have been using the solution for three years. • Stability Issues We had an issue with the reporting feature, but other than this, it's pretty robust. • Scalability Issues We did not encounter any issues with scalability. • Customer Service...

How has it helped my organization?

We have almost 2500 computers inside our private network. Managing those computers from a single console meant a dream come true for us. Besides this, central patch management and detailed reporting, especially active directory or inventory... more»

What needs improvement?

Reporting should be customizable. Although there is already a scope of customized reporting, there should be some other option. Besides for that, for inventory management, this software takes data from active directory’s database. Sometimes... more»
