The total ranking of a product, represented by the bar length, is based on a weighted aggregate score. The score is calculated as follows: The product with the highest count in each area gets the highest available score. (20 points for Reviews; 16 points for Views, Comparisons, and Followers.) Every other product gets assigned points based on its total in proportion to the #1 product in that area. For example, if a product has 80% of the number of reviews compared to the product with the most reviews then the product's score for reviews would be 20% (weighting factor) * 80% = 16. For Average Rating, the maximum score is 32 points awarded linearly based on our rating scale of 1-10. If a product has fewer than ten reviews, the point contribution for Average Rating is reduced (one-third reduction in points for products with 5-9 reviews; two-thirds reduction for products with fewer than five reviews). Reviews that are more than 24 months old, as well as those written by resellers, are completely excluded from the ranking algorithm.

What is most valuable?

Incredible IOPS increase in storage: IOPS is required to fulfill a disk job faster. It is input/output per second. When you request a report on your SQL server, you need as much as IOPS you can. So many IT guys put their most important... more»

How has it helped my organization?

Basically, our company needs IOPS to solve the bottleneck on the storage side, but storage upgrade costs were awful. Instead, we chose FVP and achieved IOPS values nearly 6-10 times faster without any hardware upgrade.

What needs improvement?

Right now, you can only use this technology in VMware environments. Definitely supporting different OS and hypervisor systems would help this product reach a much larger community. This issue has not actually affected me. However, other... more»

What is most valuable?

The analytic data that is reported using PernixData Architect is by far the best storage metrics we have been able to gather on our environment. PernixData FVP increased the performance of our legacy SAN while decreasing its load.

How has it helped my organization?

Architect has reduced our time in troubleshooting infrastructure verses application issues. We can tell real time on a per virtual machine basis if there is an underlying storage performance issue that needs to be addressed. FVP has saved... more»

What needs improvement?

In moving from the version 2 to version 3 of the product the console was moved from vsphere client to an independent HTML5 interface. While the new interface is a step forward, I believe this transition focused more on the per VM basis and... more»

What do you think of DataCore SANsymphony?

Primary Use Case Oracle OLTP benchmark to test how it improves the performance while using flash drive NVMP. • Improvements to My Organization It is a well-proven, automated management tool in all dynamic provisioning, auto-tiering, great performance, parallel I/O, cache speed mechanism, etc.  • Valuable Features Parallel I/O, because there is no performance degrade nor cache hit when there is a 100% update and 70/30 read/write. There is no performance impact and latency is just 20 ms. • Room for Improvement Unified storage (all block, objects, and files) should be in a single storage pool with unified storage concepts, hence providing the user with whatever they want. • Use of Solution One to three years.
