What is your primary use case for Cisco Catalyst Switches?

Our primary use case for Cisco Catalyst Switches for campus-wide local area networks. We have configured it to power and support LAN nodes and facilitate separate VPNs, terminating routers for secure remote communication.

The product is used in the hotels for the network.

Cisco Catalyst Switches helps us with VPN connection.

We are mainly deploying the tool for client requirements.

I use the tool in my company for spine and leaf architectures and to deploy new data centers.

We use them in multiple projects in the organization. So we provide access to approximately 600 users. They use access points, and some of them are designated for core features.

The main use case usually depends on the client itself. We are operating as system integrators with numerous customers and different software vendors.

We mainly use it for user access in corporate offices, but we have been working on certain projects that require using XE access to support APIs and network connectivity.

We have different use cases for different verticals. Our network is built mainly on Cisco equipment, including switches, firewalls, and routers. Most of the devices are Cisco products.

The solution is primarily used for the access layer, distribution layer, core layer - the three layers as well as a signal fabric that is managed through the DNA center.

Cisco Catalyst Switches is our core switch.

I use Cisco Catalyst Switches for the connectivity of my client's local area network.

We use the solution for long connections. It is deployed on-prem. We're using seven Cisco devices in the head office.

We are mostly using the Cisco Catalyst 2900 Series, but some are the new 900 Series and a mixture of a lot of solutions. More than 300 people are working on Cisco Catalyst switches.

I've utilized Cisco Catalyst Switches on a DNA center. I've also used it for many solutions, e.g. in universities, telecom companies, and other commercial institutions. I've implemented many solutions that contain Cisco Catalyst Switches, call switches, abbreviation switches, and access switches on Cisco design solutions. I worked on a network that contained more than 100 Cisco Catalyst Switches in some of the universities. I use Cisco Catalyst Switches and I implement most of the technology with that content in IOS.

Catalyst switches are our dedicated solution for connecting everything into one big domain.

I work in a big Colombian bank and we use the solution for the campus connectivity involving, perhaps, 23 buildings.

My primary use case is to assign VLAN or a port for VLAN on the main network.

We are using Cisco Catalyst Switches for corporate and production, such as offices. We have two networks running and the second one is an Everts network and it is more specialized in TV video broadcasting.

We primarily use it to provide a hierarchy in the data center, enterprise solutions, and high availability solutions.

We use Catalyst switches to extend our network throughout the facility. It's a big facility, so we need to use switches the ABS to get the signal out to the entire facility.

My primary use case is providing Catalyst switches for the edge and campus networking. You may have lots of IoT switches, like surveillance access points and you need to implement IPE switches that deliver the power and networking through the endpoint sensors. Most of these are considered access switches. We then implement the distribution layer that links all of the access switches and network traffic, then move to the course switches that handle all the packets and connect all the buildings to each other. After, the core is connected to the firewall, from Cisco as well, to get out of building to the internet. So the core portfolio comes from access to the core. I end with the firewall and the routers to the internet. Cisco's support is called SMARTnet, but we provide support to customers in case of any troubleshooting or if it's on-premises. We act as a mid-layer between the customer and Cisco. Most customers deploy it on-premises, but some prefer to build their own private cloud.

We primarily use the solution for our server. It's a network solution as well.

We use Cisco Catalyst Switches for the office network.

This solution is used to strengthen our connections, connect to the network, as a router to multiple systems, network management, and monitoring.

Cisco Catalyst Switches are pretty straightforward. They offer LAN and internal networking. They are for network segmentations and LAN and WAN perimeter networks.

We primarily use the solution for both corporate and data centers.

We are using this solution as a network LAN switch in a financial company.

We use this solution for our network. I am a system engineer, and we sell the products to our customers.

We use this solution as a networking switch for a data center.

We are using 29 series. We have three switches that we use for common switches and routing. We also have a number of access switches that we interconnect to the devices in the network, such as telephone, CCTV. We have defined a number of VLANs that are running traffic between the switches, and we have done interconnections within the switches, cable, and fiber.

I use this solution for AV, Audio-Video applications, over IP solutions. It's to forward Audio-Video IP packets based on the ITMP protocol. I also needed a POE port to power the transmitters and receivers.

We are implementors. We implement this solution for our customers as access switches. They connect the users to the network and identify them.

We're using it as basic switches - mainly VLANs and SPB, The main focus is actually for just VLANs and VLAN switching, and that's it.

Within the past year, we have implemented Catalyst 2960 switches and Cisco 1900 Series routers. I am implementing complex solutions with the Catalyst series that include the Spanning Tree Protocol. Typically, the solution is used for a client's official network and several times as a replacement. A client may use it to replace the total network LAN switch.

Our installation is totally on-premises. It is a backend solution supporting the entire campus. This is used as a three-tier network for our overall networking. We use it as a call switch at the backend, it is also used in the distribution, and it is used on the server farm switches. We use them for these three different kinds of purposes in the data center at the same time. All these servers can function on the network through these switches.

We have an Academy, we know how to manage it. We have the knowledge to manage it and it gives us security. We can configure the switch to resolve our internal problems. We can use one switch for five to six years. It's used for our processor, a small data center, and we have our network with at least 500 users.

My primary use case of this solution is for connecting up drivers and desktops. I'm a system administrator and we're a customer of Cisco.

We use this solution for LAN connectivity. We also use it for routing capabilities. It can become an L3 switch.

We don't personally use the switches; we provide services to our clients, including implementing the switches for them.

This solution is capable of high-quality L2 & L3 switching at several different layers of our enterprise with a high rate of availability and reliability. It has excellent dynamic routing capabilities. We manage a large WAN environment that requires the use of OSPF. Cisco Catalyst Switches perform these two functions very well.

Generally, we are using Cisco Catalyst switches for the campus network. We are currently using the Cisco Catalyst 3800 Series switches with IOS XE, and we also recently onboarded the Catalyst 9300 Series and 9400 Series, mostly for the campus network. We also use the 3800 Series switch for wireless connectivity, which provides UPOE, supporting up to 60 watts for the PoE devices. Performance-wise, Catalysts are so good in the LAN infrastructure, especially for a campus network. But for a data center environment, we mostly prefer the Cisco Nexus series.

We usually use it for connecting campus switches and to provide access switching to the customer, through which they connect their end-user or end devices like WiFi, CCTV, or IP phone.

We use it mainly for access, as an access switch to other PCs.

The use case will depend on the customer's requirements. Generally, if they want the access layer, the 2960 works pretty well. If they are in the SMB market, we go with the SZ series which is okay. If the primary use case is more on the PoE side, Catalyst switches give the most. And with respect to two-port, the 2960 is better.

I was a Support Engineer with Cisco, I used to support customers who were using Cisco Catalyst features.

The last Catalyst I used was for a core solution in an airport. That was a 3850. The previous use case was as the backbone of an ISP. We used different models of Cisco Catalyst including 3560s and 3700s.
