We use the product for data migration and integration. It also works as a pipeline for data warehouses.

I use the solution in my company as an ETL tool to extract and load data. My company plans to move to the cloud since, nowadays, everything is about cloud-based solutions.

Usually, when clients have agile requirements and want to bring historical data into the new HANA architecture, we use Data Services. This may involve multiple years of data from different systems. We need proper business use cases to map and set up the tools. Additionally, after the data is brought in, we perform reconciliation to show the before and after data transformation. This helps the business understand the changes that occurred during the transformation. Data Services, along with tools like Information Steward, allows the usage of machine learning and artificial intelligence to maintain business rules and mappings, making the process easier. When we want to handle data migration internally, instead of relying on external tools like Xfinity, we usually use Data Services.

We use it in at least two ways. One area is data migration from several legacy systems, and the second scenario is data quality. We use it, together with another tool that is in the same package, for cleansing.

From an integration perspective, normally, we're using SAP Data Services, however, I can only use it from an ETL perspective. This is used to extract business content from the system. It's the tool that allows you to extract business consent and for purposes of business intelligence; businesses use it for legally reporting requirements.

We use Data Services to pull data from a hospital system and transfer it to a centralized Oracle database. Then we use the tool to transform the data for reporting and analytics.

It is a very widely used tool. We mostly use it for integration purposes between various systems and for data migration. One of the recent use cases is about the AWS database that we are trying to establish. We need the data from various on-premise systems, and SAP is one of them, which is majorly used. We want to put that data into our data lake. We are not using the cataloging and metadata features much. We have a separate data cataloging tool.

We use the solution as a tool to do the deployment for the reports. While we deal mostly with banks, who do not need complex analytics (their reports are largely static). It's useful for telecoms or other sectors that need to monitor daily trends. However, once designed, the banks can use the same report on a daily basis to see their somewhat static results quite easily.

I’m not an SAP consultant but I have quite a long experience with SAP projects. I've been working in IT for 20 years (HP Services / DXC) and I have a lot of contacts with SAP customers so my opinion is based rather on my experience of real SAP implementations not based on a deep knowledge of SAP technology abilities. I’m a business consultant technology agnostic and very often my customers asking me for advice in the scope of a transformation of their IT environment. Most of our customers are dealing with a huge amount of data so we usually apply the solution to enterprise companies that have SAP technology and they are usually SAP customers. It's not separate analytics that can be applied to another ERP system. Usually, between five and 10% of employees in a particular company will be using the solution, it will be slightly higher when the solution is applied in the retail sector. It really depends on the company. Some are based on IT technology and others provide a more operational or production base. In these companies, there is a utilization of analytics. It strongly depends on the company's activities.

Our primary use for this solution is just, one-hundred percent, ERP purposes. We were typically Business Intelligence guys and we were not focusing on dealing with the data in-house. After the acquisition of this product, we were led to believe that it was a good business development opportunity for us as well and that we could become a candidate for data analysis projects. Because of the fact that we were based in Istanbul, we quickly became number one in the region for data analysis projects. We used this product in the telecom business. A few of these companies we worked with are still using the solution.
