We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Oracle E-Business Suite is easy to use, and we have enough resources out in the market.""Its drag-and-drop features make data distribution a breeze.""Rapidly implement jobs, positions, grades, and steps within setup of organizational structure.""EBS has lots of application families and lots of features. It is modular in deployment and flexible enough to let the customer increase the built-in capabilities and enable new applications when needed. These are very important things at hand in case there will be a need to expand the product capabilities and/or implement new projects.""The GL and FAH modules have become real-deal players for an organization with many legacy systems that handle transactions and where there is a need to create accounting from these transactions.""There is essentially one solution for every industry within Oracle — you won't require a third-party solution.""Really scalable business application suite with good technical support and straightforward patching.""Technical support is good."

"The most valuable feature is IDE.""I often say that PeopleSoft's greatest feature is how customizable it is.""The integration between Human Capital Management (HCM) and PeopleSoft is an important feature.""PeopleSoft is easy to understand, where any end user that is logged in can easily navigate through the menus.""PeopleSoft is resilient and has the flexibility for us to customize it.""Stability-wise, it is a good tool.""PeopleSoft has been fairly reliable for us. We haven't had any issues with stability.""PeopleSoft allows you to schedule upgrades and inform users beforehand. This gives your IT team time to manage the implementation and minimize disruption."

"SAP is a very process controlled application. It does not allow users to manage the data. Once the initial process is set, it works smoothly.""SAP is already working on improvements by doing annual releases with enhancements.""This is a robust and feature-rich solution.""The most valuable features of SAP ERP are its stability, industry-specific package, and adaptable configuration.""It has been quite stable so far.""SAP is more reliable in terms of data quality than other systems.""I like the solution’s features in finance, supply chain, sales, and distribution.""ERP can help manage all enterprise resources. It brings them together and provides some analytical data to inform management decisions."

Cons
"It is still a little outdated as far as what we consider a twenty-first century software. You're still using Oracle forms, that sort of thing.""It should be made a little bit more user friendly. When I complete my implementation and hand it over to the clients or the person who will operate it on a day-to-day basis, they find it a little bit difficult because they are not from a highly qualified IT background. I want Oracle to make it a little bit more user friendly.""It is on the expensive side.""The simplicity of the user experience needs to be improved tremendously.""User interface is outdated and not user friendly.""The system alerts could be improved.""Areas for improvement would be that sometimes it's a bit rigid with customization and doesn't always facilitate region-specific requirements.""The system has bugs, is not user friendly, and requires too much customization."

"I would like to see improvement in the UI.""I would like for the initial rollout process to be completed faster so that it can be implemented in a more efficient manner.""Global payroll could be easier to use.""I would like to see better support, bug fixing, and documentation.""In my opinion, it needs more performance, maybe something technical related, because it's very slow for us and even small activities take a while.""Parsing of CVs is productive but accuracy can be improved.""PeopleSoft could improve by being more user-friendly. It's somewhat awkward to navigate.""The implementation of PeopleSoft is quite complex and is not as easy as other cloud products such as SuccessFactor or Workday."

More PeopleSoft Cons →

"It has a high cost.""The warehouse management could be better.""Poor ergonomics.""The problem for us, we are one company that has seven home markets. Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. When we need to configure, modify rules, change policies, or taxes rules, when we move currencies around based on our other financial results, it can get very complicated. When we try to join everything together we have some problems. However, the process good, all of our material and procurement processes are going well. The problem is trying to consolidate the financial reports and this is where I have problems.""Pricing could be improved for preferred customers.""The service could be more user-friendly in the area of transition codes.""It is not easily integrated with outside products.""I would like to see the customization of the reports become easier to work with instead of having technical support have to assist us."

    Reviews from Real Users:

Kopano R., Freelancer at a tech services company, says, “What I found most valuable in Oracle E-Business Suite is the patching because it is straightforward. As long as you follow Oracle's best practices, you are able to finish the task of patching without a problem. I like that it's also easy to add products, e.g. if you want to add on financials, you can, or if you don't have financials, you can expand on that. I like that Oracle E-Business Suite is really scalable.”

Mohammed G., Senior Oracle Application Consultant at a comms service provider, writes, “Oracle E-Business Suite consists of a lot of streams, such as financial and HR processes of the enterprise companies. We are using most of the Oracle financial modules, and we have an Oracle stream, FI procurement stream, and HR streams, which have a lot of applications. Oracle E-Business Suite has over 20 different modules to choose from, it is comprehensive. Additionally, the integration is very good. “

    Reviews from Real Users

PeopleSoft is a solution that stands out when compared to many of its competitors. Some of its major advantages are that it has a lot of functionality and is customizable.

A Regional Director at a tech services company mentions, “The most valuable feature is that it's wide and broad and it does about everything anybody needs in a major organization from a back-office systems point of view.”

"PeopleSoft is a good core system. It has a lot of functionality. "They frequently update the solution and recently they have added some good enhancement features for higher education. We just switched to the new fluid interface and that is working very well for us. It is very good," says another reviewer who is an HR/Pay Systems Administrator/Director at a university.

A Senior Manager for DevOps Infrastructure at a financial services firm, explains why he finds the solution so beneficial: "It is a customizable product. We can customize it based on our needs, which is one of the features that I like about PeopleSoft. As far as financial accounting is concerned, the user interface is very good. You can also configure a Chart of Accounts for all performance insights."

SAP ERP addresses the core business software requirements of midsize and large organizations in all industries and sectors. SAP ERP includes four individual solutions that support key areas of enterprise resource planning: human capital management, financials, operations, corporate services.
