Pros
"We can scale by increasing the infrastructure which is currently running.""Its dashboard is easy to use and very good. It allows us to customize.""Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""Technical support is good. They are very responsive. It is usually me who takes more time to get back to them than they take to get back to me, which is good.""Integration is a big plus for me.""It is easy to take a requirement, put it in the code, and deploy it.""Scalability is good. In the time that I have been there, we have added more JVMs to help with the increased workload, so it does scale.""Its Analytics is the most valuable feature."

"Now it has an OCR, optical character recognition, engine where it can extract data from the document.""The most valuable features of this solution are automation, ease of billing processes with the process net, and low to no code development.""Kofax TotalAgility is stable.""What I find most valuable in Kofax TotalAgility is its OCR feature. Cons
"Some of the features are not enough for my business. We need to build custom user management for the many end users affected by BPM.""The front end is not customised for a good user experience.""When you have to integrate files for enterprise applications.""The initial setup was complex. It is not always easy to launch a new platform and it needed better coordination with IBM.""We are a government organization, and we are the largest government power sector in India. We generate around 30% of power in India. Therefore, our processes are quite complex. Although IBM BPM is a low-code or no-code software, if you want to have extremely complex workflows, just the business process diagrams are not helpful in creating those workflows. While implementing complex workflows, only the process flow diagrams did not help us. We had to write a lot of Java scripts and Java queries to achieve what we wanted. Its integration capabilities with the SAP environment have to be improved. At present, we are only talking at the web services environment level. Its price also needs to be improved. It is currently expensive. Previously, Active Directory required a heterogeneous environment, but now they want a homogeneous environment. We had onboarded employees through Microsoft Active Directory, and now I have to implement Microsoft AD only from the cloud for my vendors.""The initial setup process is complex for basic users.""The configuration is not that easy, and the initial deployment took three months.""It can definitely be improved in terms of performance and stability."

More IBM BPM Cons →

"An area for improvement would be how the platform handles large volumes of documents. It also doesn't provide a very good, robust backup and restore capacity. In the next release, I would like the search technology to be improved.""Its licensing needs to be simplified. Currently, its licensing is very complex. It contains a number of pieces, and you have to be an expert in reading all the conditions in the license. They should simplify the licensing and make it easier to understand. It would make a customer's life easier.""Integration is an area where the solution lacks.""They need to come with more out of the box solutions, rather than depending on customers to develop them.""The platform's workflows could be more intuitive and easier to use.""The user interface could definitely be improved.""OpenText 360 is generally stable, though there are sometimes issues with document size or format.""We have a very good time to market tool, and the development platform should be made user-friendly. Mostly, it's just support."

More OpenText 360 for SharePoint Cons →

"It’s not truly low code yet, as every two or three projects, you will have a situation where you have to go behind the essential things. You will definitely still need to customize.""Kofax should improve its handwritten extractions.""TotalAgility needs to improve communication with ECMs or other file storage systems because TotalAgility does not have file storage. A good improvement would be to create file storage or integrate with other file storage tools that are currently available.""Kofax needs to improve the low-code or citizen developers.""Room for improvement would be better OCR functionality in terms of Arabic OCR. There should be better accuracy.""Sometimes there isn't enough accuracy when it comes to extracts.""The Transformation Designer of KTA can be made better.""Table line item extraction is not possible through Quick Capture."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It may be cheaper for organizations to pay for the Viewer licenses that are immediately up and running in the cloud, rather than paying for someone to administer publishing to an intranet."

  • "We have definitely seen ROI. When we first kicked it off, we said it had to pay for itself within three years, and it did."
  • "It gives us a good return on investment."
  • "We chose to purchase IBM BPM because it was bundled with the actual RPA program/solution that we decided to purchase. We decided to use Automation Anywhere tool (RPA), and it is was bundled with IBM BPM."
  • "Our customers do see ROI. They'll identify some particularly painful or uncoordinated processes to start with, then build out from there, picking off low hanging fruit."
  • "It has a low cost to implement. You'll get your money back in the same year that you complete the project."
  • "The cloud and license of the subscription model for IBM BPM can be complex. There are a lot of alternatives to choose from."

  • "It is slightly more expensive than other tools."
  • "Kofax TotalAgility is very expensive."
  • "It has a perpetual license. You pay once in a lifetime for the volume of scans you will do and the number of users you will have. You can have participants or regular users, and you can have developers and administrators. So, once you purchase it, it is for a lifetime, and then every year, you have to pay for the maintenance. There is an annual maintenance cost, which is about 18% of the licensing cost."
  • "The price of this solution is less than some of the competition."

    • More scalable processes: The solution enables better process execution and workflow automation, which transfers well when scaling processes.

    Reviews from Real Users

IBM BPM is a solution that stands out when compared to many of its competitors. Some of its major advantages are that it’s good for developing complex apps, is robust, and has helpful team management and process performance features.

Zoran C., Owner/CEO at IT SPHERE, says, “It is perfect if you have to develop complex apps without much coding (only java script). It is also good if you don't have much IT resources in your company and would like to involve business analysts in the process of developing apps. My opinion is that it can do about 50% of all developers' work.”

Suhas V., BPM Architect at GBM, mentions, “Overall the solution is robust and has the ability to integrate with any product for complex workflows."

A BPM Consultant at a financial services firm comments, "Some of the features that I like the most are team management and process performance. They are both very useful and very powerful with regard to the workflow."

A Digital Banking & Innovation Director at a financial services firm expresses, “The processing functionality makes it easy to change processes and workflows easily.”

With Process360, businesses can take advantage of enterprise process applications delivered on top of SharePoint that also leverage other Microsoft technologies for content management, collaboration, user interface design, and integrated communications.
