Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Transaction Tracing is the most useful. Being able to have the transaction stitched together so we can see where the problem is has proven invaluable.""The product is very useful to find problems in middleware for the application servers, especially agent instrumentation and management is user friendly.""The most valuable aspect of this solution is the integration with their other systems. It's easy to understand and it points out the relevant problems in the enterprise.""Browsermetrix, which is real-user monitoring via JS injection and linked back to TTW via cookie. It allows us to see the experience of every user hitting our sites and analyze performance by region, browser, etc.""We just control on the backend of AppInternals what we want to instrument and what we don't want to instrument.""The capability of analysing each individual transaction captured to a very low level detail (method call/line of code).""Synthetic transactions, WMI and SNMP query capability.""Clicks to root cause - fast & easy to diagnose and deep-dive"

"I can get everything on a single page.""On the Managed side tech support has been pretty good. Stuff gets turned around pretty quickly. With them being able to do the remote management from the back-end, they are able to fix stuff up if they need to.""It helps to show where the problem is and isolates the issue.""Real-time alerts allow us to address issues as they happen.""We have been capturing all the information and evaluating whether it can be improved or not.""With Dynatrace, we have synthetic checks and real-user monitoring of all of our websites, places where members and providers can interact with us over the web. We monitor the response times of those with Dynatrace, and it's all integrated into one place.""The alerting mechanism where you get millions of dependencies analyzed, in one alert or "problem" as Dynatrace calls it.""We have substantially lowered incidents in our organization."

More Dynatrace Pros →

"The most valuable feature is the ability to Drill down to webpage actions.""The availability of the solution is its most valuable aspect. I can also Google anything I want and upload it on the cloud. I can do that using the mobile app. It is very helpful.""ORUEI lets you create a dashboard that shows you insight into the user experience.""The customers requires redundancy work to achieve a 99.999% uptime. To accomplish this, we installed this solution into storage. This setup ensures that if one node goes down, the system remains operational through another node. So that's the core aspect of the setup. Additionally, the schedule and the rental database run on servers, and behind these servers, we have storage. This storage operates as a single storage cluster, although there might be another storage option that costs around $30."

Cons
"I would like for it to have automated updates, the way the product updates itself should be all automated, as opposed to what it is now.""It would be great if the solution could offer fixed bundles and more features.""Support for PHP, DB and other applications need to be supported.""We have put in a request as an enhancement that we would like to search for items. If we're searching for a URL and we want to know was it a get or was it a post.""The technical support is not very good and should be improved.""The admin dashboard could be easier as it takes a little bit of time to get used to it.""They should find a way for report generation from TTW to run quicker.""We'd like to be able to find out performance problems on application class and methods."

More Aternity AppInternals [EOL] Cons →

"Most of the time, chat support is not good enough for answering queries.""I would say it's not scalable, because we've had to move large applications that were in a shared environment to their own separate Dynatrace server instance.""It is always requiring us to update the Dynatrace client.""The usability is worse than it used to be.""The one thing I am really missing is the final Azure dashboard.""The solution could improve on integration, cloud services, and making the configuration less difficult.""When compared with other tools, the experience needs improvement. I would like them to build out the interactions and make them friendlier.""There is a limitation on timeframe. Now, if you look at the dashboard, it will state five minutes, then 15 minutes, then one hour, then six hours, and finally 24 hours. I would like them to provide a set of options defining the business hour."

More Dynatrace Cons →

"There are instances of imitation, like with processors. As customers, we aim to develop this area, particularly focusing on the networking facility and connectivity. The challenge lies in the connection between the DC and MDR, which is quite distant. The link between them needs to be reliable. When direct fiber isn't available, they resort to using dark fiber, which can lead to some limitations. This situation presents another layer of complexity, requiring approximately 11 feet of additional infrastructure. This is essential for ensuring that applications have minimal latency. In the event of any issues, an account is set up for cache memory to ensure that the system remains operational and can recover data from the cache as needed. Additionally, I have a secondary aspect to consider.""It would be nice if the solution could be integrated with Outlook. If I'm signing any quotation, any proposal, or any of my communications, I should be able to update that Oracle application as well.""Currently, it monitors web applications well, but ORUEI doesn't monitor mobile applications yet. It would be nice if they also added the ability to monitor mobile apps.""The application resource usage has increased due to using RUEI."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The licensing model is expensive compared to its competitors, but the service it gives to your business, and the data quality, means that it's worth it."
  • "The licensing model for v9 is better where it is an individual license per server, while v10 licenses are per JVM/ .NET and server instance. The latter model appears to be the model that other APM vendors are using."
  • More Aternity AppInternals [EOL] Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Pricing is based on the number of servers monitored, so for big applications, it is a bit expensive."
  • "Licensing is a bit complicated for Dynatrace, and pricing is dependent on how much your organization invests."
  • "We found an issue within the first week of ownership that has been costing us more than the entire license cost."
  • "Product pricing can seem a little over complex, however this is minor and does not detract from the benefits of the solution."
  • "Getting the first agents installed, getting information, and coverage in a initial set of systems can be done in hours and with a low cost entry point."
  • "Price (of the product) is a major concern for all the clients I work with."
  • "The licensing model is confusing in solutioning clients for the number of hosts needed to deploy."
  • "The product is superior to others, but it comes with a price tag that is often difficult to position back to clients."

Dynatrace is the only solution that provides answers to organizations based on deep insight into each user, transaction, and organization's environment.

Barry P., a managing performance engineer at Medica Health Plans, writes, "With Dynatrace, we have synthetic checks and real-user monitoring of all of our websites, places where members and providers can interact with us over the web. We monitor the response times of those with Dynatrace, and it's all integrated into one place."

A consultant at a tech service company notes, "A feature that's one of the highlights of Dynatrace is the AI. The second most valuable feature is OneAgent.
