Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Simple file sharing and sync for internal and external customers.""The solution is scalable.""It is a very user-friendly product.""I like the ease of use.""Using Box for cloud storage allows us to focus on the service and maintaining infrastructure.""Box is extremely stable, they have not been hacked or lost any data in the past seventeen years. I am very impressed with it.""I like that Box makes it easy to deploy virtual machines.""It is really easy to load files to and from this solution."

"We standardized our CIS log processing with CA View. We support a whole bunch of LPARs, about 80 or so. When we go to an LPAR, we know just where the CIS log is, it's in CA View, and we know how to get to it, we don't have to search around for it.""It's easy to add more space to it when you need and to. If you're producing large reports it's easy to increase so you can handle the new volume that may come along."

"This is a very complete and powerful solution."

Cons
"If there was a plugin that added some sort of toolbar in Office, that would be great.""It could be cheaper.""Maturity of the enterprise security around user management.""I find their API to be quite complex and it could be more straightforward.""Improvements in speed - Box's high level of security impacts performance, especially when compared with other similar services.""Tasks and comments could be easier to see, report, search, and manage.""I would love to see the ability to invite collaborators extended to a file level, not just the folder level.""Data privacy, regarding where to store your data: Offering several transparent(!) options (where to store my data and whether to sync back or not and where to sync) regarding the local law situations (USA, EU, Switzerland!) would increase the credibility of a US based company (after NSA ‘snooping’)."

"There was one customer we were trying convert over, and it was complicated. There were retention criteria which seemed a little more limited than with some of the other products.""I believe they do probably have a GUI interface for the laptop, so you can just use the interface instead of the mainframe ISPF interface. I think that's already available but, if not, that would be my only issue."

"We would like to see more features for RPA and AI."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing may seem steep at first, but delve into the features and you'll soon realize it is incredible value for what you get."
  • "It is expensive per head, as you need the enterprise license to get full security and tools. So negotiate a discount!"
  • "Better sign a full year's contract to get a discount."
  • "I'm in Higher Ed, so we purchase through Internet2-Net+. I absolutely recommend going that route for Higher Ed customers."
  • "A business account has a minimum of three users. If you are more than three people in-house, go for the Enterprise version. All the external users are free of charge."
  • "Our pricing and licensing is excellent. I'd tell all Higher Ed customers to talk with Internet2 for excellent pricing and support."
  • "I believe Box is cheaper than SharePoint."
  • "They are very price competitive when pushed. Initially, they come out with a standard list price, but they are willing to be very competitive. The Box price was pretty much equal to or lower than the Citrix price, and Box has more features."

  • "It requires other pieces of CA software and license keys, thing like that. That's one thing to keep in mind. It requires CA Common Services in order to actually be licensed to run on LPAR."
