Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The user experience and the quality of the features are good.""The most valuable features of the solution are the fact that they are able to encrypt the hard disk and to encrypt USB sticks.""The solution has a great VPN.""I like the support most of all.""The Intercept X feature is the most valuable feature. You can't find this feature in other firewalls because Intercept X works as if it has an interaction between the endpoint and the firewall.""It's the best solution on the market.""The product is easy to use.""The advantage of Sophos SafeGuard stems from the fact that it is more secure than other products in the market."

"We find the dashboard, endpoint mobile encryption, and email encryption valuable.""One notable aspect is the ability to customize alerts and other settings.""Their cloud features such as Cloud Endpoint security, ransomware modules, malware, and other modules are very effective.""It is stable.""The best feature of Symantec Endpoint Encryption is the encryption itself. Encryption truly is the way to go because nowadays we are living in an era of widespread server threats, and you need to encrypt your emails and documents because you never know who might get hold of them.""The installation process is pretty straightforward.""It has reduced the number of incidents related to the loss of information.""It helps us put antivirus solutions in place and prevent malware from getting to our machines."

"The number one feature I found was that the install was really easy, it was quite helpful.""The most valuable feature of Micro Focus Voltage SecureData Enterprise is the ease of configuration and the group services rest API."

Cons
"Sophos SafeGuard cannot block or quarantine such viruses. Quarantine is a feature with shortcomings that needs improvement.""The product is not cheap.""The Office 360 integration could be improved.""SafeGuard's user interface is ugly and doesn't provide reports, so we have to go into the database and get information from there by creating queries.""If it's possible, they should make all the features available because it's got a lot of features on offer, but you have to buy the license in order to add those features to the normal Endpoint. If they could make all those features available and/or offer a bundling option it would be better.""The tutorials need to be simplified. The existing ones need to be easier to follow and we could use some tutorials for basic setups. They should aim to be more like Cisco, which offers very good tutorials and materials.""The solution is not using other features like booting encryption, because it causes very heavy processing of the workstation. If they could find some way to handle the encryption and decryption to be lighter on the workstation it would be better.""Once you lock a server, you won't be able to install or put something on that particular server, but on the PC or machines, the lockdown feature is not there, and it is a query our company raised when we had to provide details for Sophos' review."

More Sophos SafeGuard Cons →

"If for example, a user forgets the endpoint key, they cannot access their data. We need a support team that is a single point of contact for the IT entity to be trained and to have documentation for troubleshooting and managing the solution.""The program's disk encryption is not very friendly with Microsoft OS updates. We have a problem with updates failing unless we use a time-consuming work-around.""It's difficult to integrate the solution with the DLP""Symantec Endpoint Encryption can improve by being more secure.""The security could be improved.""The UI could be improved.""Its decryption time needs to be improved. Currently, its decryption time is very long, and it takes double time than encryption. They need to work on that. Its encryption time is fine.""I do not find the environment to be very user-friendly."

More Symantec Endpoint Encryption Cons →

"Micro Focus Voltage SecureData Enterprise can improve the types of encryptions. They are limited by the number of types of encryption and types of masking they are allowing. In the solution that we were using, the illustration interface and the number of capabilities in terms of data masking were limited.""For a future release, the interface looks a bit dated and could be improved."

  • "Licensing for this solution is on a yearly basis."
  • "The licenses are dependant on the number of users and computers you have to protect."
  • "We have a yearly license with Sophos which is around $1000-$1200 or so per annum. There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fee."
  • "Licensing is on a yearly basis and the pricing could be better."

  • "Pricing for Sophos SafeGuard could be improved because it could reach a thousand dollars depending on the product, edition, and software key purchased."
