We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"A valuable feature for us is that we have an ordered way to handle all the cases that we can handle with the infrastructure.""The solution will streamline productivity and also improve automation. That would bring efficiency as well the ability to handle a big number of enterprise-wide service needs. Productivity and collaborative capabilities are some of the key benefits.""It's pretty well-structured in modules.""Micro Focus Service Manager is fine. It's a good solution for small accounts with minimal reporting. Micro Focus is a good option because you don't have to worry about the budget.""It's mostly so reliable and has a lot of functionality. We're using a lot of HPE tools and we can do a lot with it. So, its functionality is the most valuable feature.""Technical support is pretty good.""Sometimes, customization is simple. The version we are using now has a nice interface.""The design has been revamped in terms of GUI. The current interface is quite easy to read."

"For change management, I find the CAB workbench very useful. I haven't seen any other solution that has a CAB workbench or advanced automated solutions for a change advisory board. ServiceNow also has the Workflow Engine which works very well and is very intuitive.""It's great for keeping everyone informed in the company - not just IT. Everyone becomes aware of change requests and incidents so the entire company is on the same page.""The most valuable aspect of the solution is the possibility of the application development cap so that we can digitize workflows.""It's great to do statuses or to review tasks.""I like the ease of use.""It gave us professionalized, faster incident turn around times. Improved quality of information shared with our customers. Over time we build an extensive knowledge base that assists in both self-service as in services provided by the servicedesk when handling incidents.""ServiceNow is an industry leader in multiple areas and provides an excellent ROI.""If you stick to the out-of-the-box solution, it's an easy setup."

More ServiceNow Pros →

"The simplicity of the solution is excellent.""The solution can scale.""The solution provides us with multi-layered service management along with all our support pieces integrated in one system. Our entire system is run on SysAid, from Tier 1 to Tier 3. All the other IT department functionality is captured in SysAid, like development, warehousing, and application. So, it has vertical and horizontal coverage.""I would say the overall flexibility of the product is its most valuable feature.""The SysAid team provided excellent service to implement the solution for us. From the very first day, we received a comp manager, and a project manager, to implement the product. They continued to inquire about our business needs and then finalized the best path for us.""All our service management is integrated into one system. Our response time is much faster because we have a visual into what is going on.""It tracks everything that the technicians are doing. We can account for time and manage resources.""The service desk automation and orchestration are very good. We are implementing it at the moment. We implemented it for two of our applications already for our CRM. Whenever there's a change in the CRM, it will automate them into SysAid as well. We have two workflows from our CRM into SysAid, which is very helpful. Overall, we're very happy with the workflow."

Cons
"It, still, has a bit of more of improvement possibilities in the codeless part. But, I can see that they are working on it, so that's quite good as well.""I don't see anything lacking.""It needs good integration with the configuration database, that's lacking at the moment, It's not that good.""It needs to be easier to use for the end users because one problem we had was that we are handling different kinds of cases.""Pure cloud-based native functionality is lacking.""With the new version moving toward the codeless configuration is good, but it's losing flexibility.""Service Manager would be improved with access to automation.""There's a lot of manual work, which is error prone and time consuming, in how the code gets transported from one system to the other."

More OpenText Service Manager Cons →

"When we are using the solution on mobile phones on their networks the performance is reduced with a delay of approximately 8 seconds. There is less delay using the desktop computers connected to the WiFi or to the network directly.""The technical support SLA can be improved because sometimes they take a long time to answer our queries.""It's not user-friendly by default, but it can be customized to be customer-friendly.""The solution could improve by being more stable.""Loads slower than expected, and its user interface needs improvement. Support for this product also needs to improve on their response time.""Some enhancements to the self-service platform would be helpful. That part is still a little barebone... Also, the mobile app is not bad, but it's limited.""One thing I don't care for is the reporting and the way it functions.""There should be greater integration with other enterprise applications. We're using Microsoft, Oracle, and other applications, and it would be good to have a greater integration on some of the immediate hiccups that you have with these services. It doesn't mean that when we have a problem with using another application, ServiceNow should be able to fix it, but ServiceNow should be able to alert us to things. There should be a bit more automation or integration."

More ServiceNow Cons →

"So far, we're very happy with the new integration. The only thing that I would like to see is for them to improve asset management so that it's more usable. We looked at it once and we didn't find it quite usable for us. That's why we didn't use it. We haven't looked into the new one yet but the asset management is something that can be improved even more and patch management is not as good as it could be.""SysAid has fewer AI features compared to other tools.""One of the features that I'm hoping comes at some point is that currently you can only have one Knowledge Base instance within it. For me, it would be beneficial to have multiple instances for different purposes. I'd like to have a completely separate one for customers and the only way I can achieve that right now, where I can tag articles to only be viewed by customers, would be if I use its portal function.""Monitoring needs improvement. At the moment we are looking for some advanced monitoring tools, which are using AI and machine learning as well. This product currently does not offer that.""Some of the back-end configurations of the solution are very difficult. So, we always need SysAid's help.""Currently, SysAid does not have a mobile application.""The administrative side of the user interface could be a little more user-friendly. It is easier for me to export our reports into Excel, then do a server retrieval and get the information. Whereas, to do a report, you have to go through a configuration type of process, which is kind of difficult and complicated. I have been using this solution for two years now and I still haven't gotten the hang of the reports.""We would like them to approve the security functionalities, e.g., management security features."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I would say that identify your requirements and pay for the support to implement and test those requirements, and then hope that you did a good job because the cost of their service is fairly expensive."
  • "Micro Focus Service Manager is a little cheaper than other options. You have to pay a monthly subscription fee."
  • "The license is not cheap."
  • "I pay for Service Manager on a yearly basis, and the price is reasonable - I would rate it five out of ten."
  • "HP Service Manager has moderate pricing."
  • More OpenText Service Manager Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The first impact for the customer is that it is expensive, but do not forget that it is a solution that includes infrastructure; a single cost, easy to justify."
  • "It has a higher cost compared to local/regional solutions."
  • "We know that ServiceNow is not cheap, it's more expensive than other solutions. But we are trying to increase our ability to handle tickets so that the cost per ticket is less."
  • "It's sold as a less expensive solution, but it has to be highly modified. That's where you get into the cost."
  • "ServiceNow pricing is an art, not a science. The deal depends on how commercially savvy you are, which does make it something that is quite difficult to get right. It is most definitely an opportunity area for ServiceNow to improve and have more visibility around pricing of the different products within the platform."
  • "ServiceNow is a leader and its pricing is quite good, quite competitive... Sometimes some plugins are not priced reasonably but, generally, the platform itself, its modules, are priced reasonably."
  • "Isn't pricing always too much? We really do chafe at the ITIL licensing. ITOM is also pretty expensive."
  • "Initially, the licensing model ServiceNow came up with was very good. But now, from a licensing perspective, they are changing their model day by day. It is becoming a bit expensive for customers."
  • More ServiceNow Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The pricing of SysAid is less than its competitors."
  • "Overall, the price is good. It's all about what you get for the base amount. From my perspective, you want to look at what you're getting out-of-the-box. SysAid does a good job of putting key stuff in the box for you."
  • "Once you're interested, talk with SysAid. You can have them come in and look at your company and advise you on the best solution. They will tell you what comes with each separate package and also advise you what application to activate. If you want something that they don't have, they have a department that can design something based on your unique requests."
  • "SysAid is a good solution, especially from a pricing perspective."
  • "We saw our investment back at the end of year one."
  • "Though I am not really sure about SysAid's prices, I know that it is competitive compared to some of the other products that our company looked at, like ConnectWise and ServiceNow."
