We performed a comparison between IBM B2B Integrator, Mule ESB, and SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about SAP, MuleSoft, IBM and others in Business-to-Business Middleware."The best feature is that many companies use the solution so there is a lot of peer support."
"Out-of-box process orchestration yields quick implementations."
"The most valuable features are the flexibility and the range of EDI standards that IBM Sterling can handle."
"B2B provides a secure communication channel."
"The solution offers good integration capabilities."
"B2B Integrator is multi-platform, so it can be integrated with Windows, Unix, or whatever, and it can work with almost all programming languages. It can also transfer a lot of data in a short time. For instance, a system I recently implemented exchanges about 20 million files a day."
"Everything from the order to fulfillment to the payment process, except for physical packing and shipping, is fully automated for some customer orders."
"It can scale horizontally as well as vertically as a cluster."
"The transformation and the data format are the features that I like the most."
"The setup is straightforward."
"Mule ESB has a user-friendly design, and everything is in one place. The API and architecture are popular right now. Also, MuleSoft has a large and supportive online community."
"It's open source, and there are a lot of community resources. Mule ESB makes it easy to connect to other software applications."
"Mule Expression Language"
"The connectors help to connect with a variety of applications."
"The cloud and integration abilities are most useful allowing us to use applications such as Salesforce and DataWeave."
"Easy connectivity and easy integration."
"The solution is flexible when it comes to adding integrations. It is much easier to use than the other tools we have to move the files. Across the board, we can move files in a short amount of time compared to our other existing tools."
"What would have been a manual process of transmitting data items around between us and third-parties has been automated. SEEBURGER BIS handles the automation and mapping side of the communications. The automation, along with the efficiency around time and cost, has improved our organization. Around 20,000 messages a month have been automated. These typically would be financial/order transactions and confirmations in invoicing that have been automated."
"Mapping Designer provides excellent flexibility."
"We haven't had any issues with scaling."
"It has enabled digital business processes. It's the connection between our ERP system and the rest of the company. We were able to automate processing invoices digitally like an inbound invoice and FastPay payments."
"We can code in Java, which is really good feature. There is very vast command available, which can be used in mapping."
"One valuable feature is the scalability. We have not had to add processing power or hardware since we installed it. Also, we are able to create and deploy maps to migrate from another EDI platform very quickly."
"We had a requirement for transferring data to Amazon S3 buckets but we did not have a solution in our shop for large data transfers to Amazon S3. We worked with SEEBURGER and created a framework solution and now, using that solution, we can configure the transfer in an hour or two and enable it to go to existing or new S3 buckets."
"They do not have a solid partner ecosystem, and they do not have a clear roadmap for down the line; they're missing that clear roadmap."
"Patching or upgrading the product is a bit of a nightmare. It would be nice if they removed the installation manager port. We find it complicates upgrading and patching a great deal."
"There is no related transaction stored in the database because it's an OLTP application."
"The tool requires you to write a lot of code in Java and XSLT, which makes development tough."
"IBM B2B Integrator could improve the business process itself, there is no resignation of duties and in terms of the console should be changed in a way that is more user-friendly."
"There should be a single place to do things, rather than making it complicated, not moving away and truncating the old features but instead coming up with the new and still keeping the old stuff confuses people sometimes."
"The one thing that is lacking is easy visibility. It's hard to provide business users with a view into the statuses of their transactions."
"End-to-end visibility and monitoring application required. The control center is available and covers this area, but it still fails in many monitoring scenarios."
"It would be much more beneficial if the solution included AI and business process management."
"There are some issues with both stability and scalability."
"In an upcoming release, I would like to see more additional concept for exception handling, batch processing, and increased integration with other application."
"The solution's setup needs to be a bit more straightforward and its support needs to respond faster."
"The Anypoint platform consumes a lot of memory, and it would be great for developers if it were more lightweight."
"Documentation is cryptic, product releases are far too frequent, and upgrades become troublesome."
"Limitation on external subscribers to listen to the messages on the bus."
"The payment system needs improvement."
"SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite does not have an end user or subscriber console which can show the traffic status."
"There are some aspects at the front, the actual queries that you use, that could be improved. They're all very minor to be honest."
"On the server side, there are a lot of administration and configuration files that you need to go in and do maintenance on. You have to find them in a certain folder so it's very error-prone and it can be a little time consuming unless it's documented. They could pull some of those individual configuration files into the product itself where there's a better user interface for that."
"They made improvements to the email error alerts that go out, for the EDI technical. Those typically go straight out to the partners. Those messages are significantly clearer and easy to read. The same messages in the front end are not nearly as clear. It's supposed to be the same error, but the message that goes out for EDI is really easy for anybody to read and understand, but you have to be really solution-savvy to understand the message in the system itself."
"Java is very old technology and they should move away from it, to anything that's better."
"I would like there to be a feature that could handle the limited server."
"We don't have much access to the logs or what's happening. So we have to log a ticket with SEEBURGER. We only get a message that something has failed... we have to open a ticket with SEEBURGER for them to tell us exactly what the issue is... I would like us to be able to be more self-sufficient."
"They have their own private cloud. That's the reason we did not go ahead with managing everything by ourselves or moving into the cloud. They said that they're going to be doing it within the next two years, having access to Azure and AWS. That would be something we would like to see."
