We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It's really easy to use and has a simple interface."

"It can be an essential solution for those who can not just push to the cloud because they have critical data restrictions.""The most valuable feature is its flexibility.""Oracle E-Business Suite is easy to use, and we have enough resources out in the market.""The most valuable feature is the integration between accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and budgeting.""Oracle's technical support is better than others.""On-Time Payroll and its features are user-friendly.""What we like about Oracle E-Business Suite is that we didn't find any issues with it. In the Indian market, the subscription solutions aren't that suitable, even in terms of the complexity of the regulations, taxes, etc., so that's why we had to go for an on-premise solution that's hosted on the cloud, and we're happy with Oracle E-Business Suite. We also like that Oracle E-Business Suite is quite flexible, and we've also built some bolt-ons and they're working fine.""It was easy to set up the product."

"The fact that I can see the whole HR information in a single point is valuable. There is a unified view of everything, which is good. Previously, we had many different systems for each part of the information. Now, it is all centralized. It is very good.""The most valuable feature is being able to get time management reports which break out reclassified jobs and departments to separate areas of the company. This allows for better tracking of hours spent in certain jobs and where more hours may be needed.""I have found the most valuable feature to be business intelligence and Cognos reporting.""The employee self-service feature is most valuable. This is the restaurant industry, and they have a mobile app that allows employees to go in and manage their data. So, employees can manage direct deposit accounts, emergency contacts, and other things in the app. That's definitely the biggest benefit.""I like UKG's integration.""It enables us to manage the system ourselves. We don't need an additional team to do a lot of maintenance and add the things that we want.""UKG allows us to customize our home screen so that we can easily monitor important items on a daily basis.""It is much easier to use and the customer service is better than our previous solution."

Cons
"The networking could use improvement."

More Kronos Workforce Central Software [EOL] Cons →

"It should be made a little bit more user friendly. When I complete my implementation and hand it over to the clients or the person who will operate it on a day-to-day basis, they find it a little bit difficult because they are not from a highly qualified IT background. I want Oracle to make it a little bit more user friendly.""User interface is outdated and not user friendly.""The deployment of the Oracle E-Business Suite was simple. I have done many deployments and I find it simple, but for others, it might not be easy.""It would be nice to have more web services.""The issue of frequently applying patches and updates to fix bugs. Oracle should improve upon this issue, especially since it happens too frequently.""Administration takes some effort. Administrating the technology stack is not so complex but application aware database administration and following the new methodologies like online patching can be a little complex and time consuming. Oracle should ease the administrators jobs and do some innovation on this administration area as well. Oracle Autonomous Database is Oracle's leading technology these days. Using a similar approach, application stack may become a little more self-managing.""Oracle is easy to implement at a new organization like ours, but it might be more challenging for an established organization with more rules and policies in place.""The implementation can take quite a bit of time."

More Oracle E-Business Suite Cons →

"UKG could be a little more flexible in some areas.""Certainly, the time and attendance and the payroll integration need a lot of work. They are disjointed pieces, and they don't work smoothly together. That's the main drawback.""I would like to see more functionality in the next release to be able to get hours and dollars per calendar month rather than just by payroll in the Business Intelligence reports.""Reporting is always a hurdle for any user just because it is so extensive. They provide a lot of out-of-the-box reports, but it is something that you always need to work on because you need more advanced writing of reports.""The solution could improve by simplifying it even more core reports, such as more sample reports, more generic reports that you can edit and improve on yourself.""The navigation on the screen could be better. Sometimes, I have to dig a little bit deep to find what I need. Everything is there. It just needs to be a little bit smoother.""The solution could use better reporting with standard reports. We use the Cognos platform in BI for a lot of our reporting. However, they need to have more robust standard reporting available to their user base.""One area where UKG could improve is in its ability to understand its own competency and then work hard to improve it."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Find a best Oracle partner and get a better discount."
  • "Oracle scales the pricing, but E-Business Suite is still very expensive for small to mid-sized businesses."
  • "It costs too much."
  • "The pricing is high."
  • "In order to minimize the implementation and consultancy costs, business lines should have proper definitions. They need to have a proper way of retrieving their data, which should be structured well."
  • "Both the current projects and future projects should be defined well. Licensing should be done according to current and near future plans."
  • "USD $100,000 annually."
  • "Considering the market at the moment, Oracle needs to adjust the pricing of this solution."

  • "I wasn't involved in the pricing part. I'm a user, and I believe it is based on the user count. One thing that is nice about Ultimate is that you can learn how to use the system without additional fees. The learning aspect is the life of a product, and the training was a huge reason why we went with Ultimate. We did have some integration costs. They were a part of the implementation because of the integrations to other systems that we included in our implementation."
  • "While I am unsure of the licensing cost itself, the total cost of implementation and licensing for a company with over 5000 employees would be around 6,00,000. So, there are additional costs beyond licensing."

    Reviews from Real Users:

Kopano R., Freelancer at a tech services company, says, “What I found most valuable in Oracle E-Business Suite is the patching because it is straightforward. As long as you follow Oracle's best practices, you are able to finish the task of patching without a problem. I like that it's also easy to add products, e.g. if you want to add on financials, you can, or if you don't have financials, you can expand on that. I like that Oracle E-Business Suite is really scalable.”

Mohammed G., Senior Oracle Application Consultant at a comms service provider, writes, “Oracle E-Business Suite consists of a lot of streams, such as financial and HR processes of the enterprise companies. We are using most of the Oracle financial modules, and we have an Oracle stream, FI procurement stream, and HR streams, which have a lot of applications. Oracle E-Business Suite has over 20 different modules to choose from, it is comprehensive. Additionally, the integration is very good. “
