We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"If you ever tried to draw a picture in a browser app or with a cloud service, it is normally a painful death. ARIS works perfectly on diagrams in the browser, so I was excited. I like it because there have been so many bad experiences in the past with drawing or doing something in a browser. Normally, it's always painful because it's coded badly. With ARIS, it is really well-implemented. It's simple.""You can relate different aspects of an organization to each other, and you can clearly define the rates seen in the application.""ARIS BPA has a good directory option, which helps to keep track of all of your metadata, and that's very useful.""MFT is quite attractive. A large amount of data is passed in almost no time and it is quite easy to use.""The simulation engine and SAP integration are technically very robust.""The ease of use is the most valuable. I have tried a number of BPMN packages, and I find the user interface of ARIS BPM easier and more intuitive than others. If your team is knowledgeable on BPMN, it is really pretty easy to figure out on your own because it adheres to the standards extremely well. I have tried Bizagi, BizFlow, and a variety of such solutions, and I just liked ARIS BPM better.""It provides the discovery functionality, and you can have a simulation on top of it to get your design corrected to ensure that it is within the right state of parameters. It is a complete package that you can use from strategy to execution because you have the design layer, and within the design, you can also do analytics.""ARIS BPA provides very good visibility and control of processes because we have a concurrent license system. As a result, every person in our company and group is able to look at the published processes."

"Bonita is simple and lightweight and is flexible to integrate with third-party systems. The UI is now flexible, whereas it was previously rigid. Any technology can be used as a frontend, including ReactJS, Angular, and others.""Its user-friendliness, along with the availability of comprehensive and clear documentation on the website is the most valuable.""Process automation with Bonita BPM is really easy.""One of the most valuable features is you can create without coding, it is a low code platform.""Bonita is user-friendly.""The solution is stable. Even the older versions are stable.""The user interface is better than all of the open-source BPMs that I have tried.""Development of forms and flows."

"The initial setup isn't too complex."

Cons
"Making it more customizable and easy to learn would be a benefit.""Some improvements have been done, after Software AG acquired ARIS, but I don't believe it's still integrated with the other tool WebMethods in a perfect way.""There are reports available in ARIS and you can modify them a bit if you want something more specific, but it's not that easy to adjust them and make modifications. It would be nice to have some kind of tool to do that, something that is more user-friendly for people who are not too technical, so that they could create reports the way they want them.""We should have the ability to download ARIS EPCs to Visio.""While the dashboarding solution for integrating all kinds of process-related information from company sources other than ARIS is getting ever better, my personal wish would be to have a module that is more targeted to an Agile implementation of some modeled processes (model–to-execute).""ARIS needs to make a better user interface. The user interface sucks. The problem with ARIS is that they have two interfaces for the same product.""The governance mechanism could be better, as could automation.""ARIS has an internal fully customizable workflow system called APG, which is very good, but it’s targeted mostly at creating workflows related to ARIS content, and not general workflows to support other processes inside a company."

More ARIS BPA Cons →

"Automation in vacation of a human resources replacement would be a good improvement in the product.""It is missing some important features that other products have.""It would be nice to have a wizard to help walk through the development process and create a backbone.""The dashboard has limited features.""Bonita must add a rule engine. We are a 360-degree partner of Bonita. We can integrate with any kind of rule engine. We have a dashboard related to engine performance, but getting a configurable dashboard for the Buildium or transactional data will add value.""Bonita can improve by offering more flexibility. The developer does not receive the code of the application to modify it. Most of the other solutions I have used allow the developers to change or improve the code that is generated.""We are struggling a bit with integrations.""The community edition has limited module functionality. If they could release some of the functionality that's available in the enterprise edition that would be helpful to those learning to use the solution."

"The maintenance aspect is too heavy."
