We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The tool for forecasting capacity is valuable.""Fewer vulnerabilities have been observed in the four years we have used the solution.""The best thing about this solution is that you can check for the infrastructure and system updates that you might need to be compliant with the Cloud.""Has really nice roll-up dashboards.""Mobile application is the most valuable feature for us. We can monitor all the storages on our phones. It's really good."

More Dell CloudIQ Pros →

"The auto-configuration or auto-Thresholding is very important because it saves a phenomenal amount of labor and setup costs and time.""The GUI is nicer than all the other graphical interfaces out there.""The most important feature is the ability to design, then implement monitoring tests on the fly as we are adapting to different situations.""Some of the best features of eG are, in terms of APM, they have complete modules between application performance monitoring, server monitoring, and even storage and network-based monitoring. The UI is also quite good. They have some standard AI-based capabilities, even though it's not quite as advanced when compared to Dynatrace. eG has some good, basic APM capabilities.""User session details""EG monitors all infrastructure elements (all OS, all database, storage, network, and web server) from a single console.""It gives good insight into inside of what's going on with Exchange.""The product is simple to use."

More eG Enterprise Pros →

"The best thing about Zabbix is the integration and the APIs that are included are very fast""The overall functionality of Zabbix is very good. The monitoring of bank applications that Zabbix provides is great. The information is displayed on a dashboard that is easily viewed.""Zabbix helps to save time.""We value the auto-host discovery, template import, bulk import/export features. Newer versions also add nice features, such as multi-IP per host.""The integration with third-party tools and the alerts are most valuable.""The flexible licensing model is one of the solution's most valuable aspects. It really allows for great flexibility for companies.""Zabbix is good for discovery.""The pricing of the product is reasonable."

More Zabbix Pros →

Cons
"Supporting legacy systems is an area that can be improved.""In terms of improvement, they should enhance the product range.""The reporting capabilities of this solution could be improved.""Doesn't do well in terms of integrating with technologies other than Dell.""PowerScale is the only file system offered and that is limiting."

More Dell CloudIQ Cons →

"The UI looks a little dated and could do with a refresh.""The solution should improve on the security side and include some more API integrations into wider application platforms.""The integration must be improved.""Dashboards are difficult to create, and not so useful.""eG Enterprise's licensing could be cheaper. Even compared to Dynatrace, I think the price is quite expensive considering the APM functionalities, even though they have other benefits such as info monitoring.""I can understand why they designed the user interface (UI) the way they did, but sometimes in the management of the eG Manager, it can be a bit clunky.""In terms of areas for improvement in eG Enterprise, we are now moving most of our services to the OpenShift platform, and we need a way to monitor even containerized services or any service deployed on OpenShift, but that feature is still not available in eG Enterprise, so it's not good enough for us.""The solution needs to enhance the management dashboards."

More eG Enterprise Cons →

"The solution needs to add remote features.""Implementation is always tailored to the customer and the kind of information we need from the client to carry it out can make them very uncomfortable. Sometimes the clients are not ready to share it.""We would like to see the addition of automatic push functionality to this product. This would save time when monitoring our servers and networks as, at present, we have to manually install the Zabbix agent on any hardware to be monitored.""There are areas of improvement. The database grows really fast. So, when you install Zabbix, you have to deal with some issues, like the database. We become pretty big very fast.""The documentation could be improved.""Even though it’s such a powerful monitoring system, it would be more helpful if it had a flexible UI.""There's a small module of APM, however, it is not an enhanced version. People usually ask for a full-fledged APM solution.""The main problem with Zabbix is that you have to spend time writing templates for all of the products that you have."

I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want using these, but they require quite some expertise before you can use them. Then there are the ones that are not open source, the enterprise softwares and cost you some money, but on the other hand, they are extremely easy to set-up and learn. You can have them up and running in a matter of minutes. And then there are those which are completely cloud based. They can be free of cost or charge some money depending on the software. The good thing about these is that you don’t have to install any extra software, and it can be managed completely online but then again these have limited features and you cannot exploit them to the full extent as you can do with the open-source and to some extent the enterprise software, so I won’t suggest you to use these, because these are generally not the complete solutions and require other support software to achieve the same. Below I have listed the outstanding pros and cons of the various Network analyzers that you can look into Nagios Pros: Nagios offers an extensive set of collector plug-ins that allows users to gather performance and availability data from a broad range of operating systems, including  Windows and Netware Nagios… Read more →
