Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Office Integration. The full integration into the Microsoft Office products is just perfect.""I like the ease of use.""The collaboration of the solution is good.""The solution is used for data storage and any kind of visualization.""Using Box for cloud storage allows us to focus on the service and maintaining infrastructure.""The interface is very good.""Simple file sharing and sync for internal and external customers.""Sharing and collaborating across files and folders has been a massive game changer."

"We standardized our CIS log processing with CA View. We support a whole bunch of LPARs, about 80 or so. When we go to an LPAR, we know just where the CIS log is, it's in CA View, and we know how to get to it, we don't have to search around for it.""It's easy to add more space to it when you need and to. If you're producing large reports it's easy to increase so you can handle the new volume that may come along."

More CA View Pros →

"I like the cloud and its integrability.""The solution is very developed and we are not taking full advantage of its functionalities.""The most valuable features are that it's very secure and provides audit trails for our documents.""The retention module is one of the most valuable features. Whatever we scan onto the system can be identified and we are notified when the records are due to be disposed.""OnBase is a remarkable tool. It is a well-done product. Hyland has a lot of experience in building it and looking for new things for clients in terms of functionalities. It has amazing stability, and it can grow horizontally and vertically. It is built for growth. Their technical support is also quite good and available throughout the year.""We found the setup process to be okay since they do offer a troubleshooting guide."

Cons
"The solution's data security should be improved.""Data privacy, regarding where to store your data: Offering several transparent(!) options (where to store my data and whether to sync back or not and where to sync) regarding the local law situations (USA, EU, Switzerland!) would increase the credibility of a US based company (after NSA ‘snooping’).""Maturity of the enterprise security around user management.""I recommend doing the trial first, because it's not cheap ware. It's not overly expensive, but it's not cheap ware, and enterprise has a minimum number of users.""Tasks and comments could be easier to see, report, search, and manage.""Better integration with other solutions is needed.""I would love to see the ability to invite collaborators extended to a file level, not just the folder level.""The upload speed needs improvement."

More Box Cons →

"I believe they do probably have a GUI interface for the laptop, so you can just use the interface instead of the mainframe ISPF interface. I think that's already available but, if not, that would be my only issue.""There was one customer we were trying convert over, and it was complicated. There were retention criteria which seemed a little more limited than with some of the other products."

More CA View Cons →

"We are struggling with duplicates and would like to have OCR functionality when using this solution.""For user experience, they would have to do more with the interface. It is not easy to work with and is a little messy. It is getting better, but it is not yet good enough. Other products are comparatively doing better in terms of the user interface. I have been hearing about Box, which is very easy to use and learn for the users. OnBase has to work on this aspect. It should have BPM capabilities. We compete with tools that provide the BPM feature and support those standards. They can do better in terms of the pricing model. It is a really expensive tool in Latin America. They should have different prices for different regions.""The dashboards do have some room for improvement as compared to the other vendors which are there in the market.""We need to troubleshoot why our reports didn't get downloaded in a day. There is a workflow feature which powerful but also complicated.""The look and feel could be better. The integration with the user could be better. It could also be more user-friendly.""An area for improvement would be the training - getting our people up to speed on how to use it required more training than we expected due to the complexity of the solution."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing may seem steep at first, but delve into the features and you'll soon realize it is incredible value for what you get."
  • "It is expensive per head, as you need the enterprise license to get full security and tools. So negotiate a discount!"
  • "Better sign a full year's contract to get a discount."
  • "I'm in Higher Ed, so we purchase through Internet2-Net+. I absolutely recommend going that route for Higher Ed customers."
  • "A business account has a minimum of three users. If you are more than three people in-house, go for the Enterprise version. All the external users are free of charge."
  • "Our pricing and licensing is excellent. I'd tell all Higher Ed customers to talk with Internet2 for excellent pricing and support."
  • "I believe Box is cheaper than SharePoint."
  • "They are very price competitive when pushed. Initially, they come out with a standard list price, but they are willing to be very competitive. The Box price was pretty much equal to or lower than the Citrix price, and Box has more features."

  • "It requires other pieces of CA software and license keys, thing like that. That's one thing to keep in mind. It requires CA Common Services in order to actually be licensed to run on LPAR."

  • "They can do better in terms of the pricing model. It is a really expensive tool in Latin America. They should have different prices for different regions."
  • "OnBase is reasonably priced."
  • "There are a number of different types of licenses. There are concurrent licenses, individual licenses and imaging licenses."
  • "The tool's price is high."
