Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The product allows us to enhance the security of the implementations we have.""The feature that I value the most about Check Point CloudGuard CNAPP is the possibility of checking compliance with different standards. This compliance check can be performed for each subscription or service that we have on all the different cloud providers that we use.""The posture management and remediation features are the most valuable. We use GSL Builder to build custom rules in alignment with our organization's policies. CloudGuard has canned rules using multiple standard frameworks, but we also have additional rules.""The various CNAPP modules have granted more visibility of our cloud applications to our system engineers and developers.""We really liked its ease of implementation against our Microsoft Azure environment.""The most valuable feature of Check Point CloudGuard Posture Management is the training.""The solution offers an excellent price, benefit, and installation relationship.""The most valuable feature is posture management, which gives you complete visibility of all your assets in the cloud and allows you to do governance and compliance."

"Cisco Stealthwatch Cloud is scalable because it is on the cloud.""When it comes to scalability, there's no size limit. It varies based on licenses and requirements.""The product helps me to see malware.""The logs in Cisco Stealthwatch Cloud are very good when doing the API integration in the team. It is able to give you important information for the correlations.""The tool's best feature is its ability to monitor network traffic. It will also inform users whether the traffic generated by a network is legitimate. The tool helps to capture and analyze the network traffic.""It tells you if there is any communication going to command and control servers, or if there is any traffic that violates your internal policy, or if any data hoarding is happening where data is being dumped from your machine to outside of the environment. It provides all such meaningful reports to help you understand what's happening.""Monitoring the traffic, making sure you have the visibility."

"The interface control manager where we can allocate LAN connections to certain VLANs is the most valuable feature. The other feature that's important for us is because obviously everything is remote with MyKerio, as long as the boat has an internet connection, we can log onto the Kerio and get statistics, as well as provide support.""When one of the employees of my customers is using the VPN Client, I have created for them that they will always get a message. When the VPN Client connects to Kerio Control from the outside, they will get an email so they know when they are connected and when they are disconnected what is happening to their network.""We also like the security. We can control what sites users can go to and we can make sure that where they're going is appropriate and that it's work-related.""The solution’s firewall and intrusion detection features are quite good because you can see exactly who is attacking you and who is getting blocked.""Kerio has improved my organization's security.""What I like the most about Kerio is that I can use the software appliance as a solution, so if the hardware fails for any reason then I can quickly replace it with hardware that I have in stock.""The firewall and the content filtering options are valuable.""It has helped our organization with testing."

Cons
"Currently, this solution is somewhat expensive.""When rules change, it messes up the remediation. They haven't found a fix for that yet. The remediation rule goes into limbo. It's an architectural design flaw within their end compliance engine—a serious bug.""Timely updates and upgrades to meet modern technological changes could help improve performance and limit the chances of downtime.""The technical support could be better, but I do not know of any other needed improvements.""The guidelines to implement or to link with the clouds are not complete.""Their service needs improvement.""In Dome9, there should be a policy validation option where we can validate the policy before we push it into production.""Almost all features are good, however, they still require improvements to the code security portion on which integration with the major source code repository is required."

"If we migrate these things to an event or send us an email if there is any critical event, I would like to configure these things on the initial launch. Because if a system is compromised, there will be a lot of data movement from one post to another post to the outside. Then, we should also get an alert on email as well. We have since we have integrated these things. But a direct email for critical alerts should be there. So, I would like to enhance the critical event configuration.""The initial setup of Cisco Stealthwatch Cloud is complex.""The initial setup is a bit complex in terms of deployment and configuration""The product needs to improve its user-friendliness. It is very tricky and you need to study it before using the standard functionalities.""The product's price is high.""When I used to work on it, I just didn't see anything new happening for about a year and a half. Providing newer data and newer reports constantly would help. There should be more classifications and more interesting data.""Cisco Stealthwatch Cloud could improve the graphical user interface. It could be a more user-friendly graphical user interface. so that. Not everybody's a cyber security professional, most of the customers that I deal with are not very skilled. The terms that they use in the solution are quite understandable for a normal CIO."

"Kerio Control has just improved on their biggest problem, which was to introduce better support for high-availability requirements in production.""After the takeover by GFI, one of the things that Kerio built was MyKerio environment. This has not been very reliable because I get many messages that MyKerio is not functioning. For some reason, there are things that they changed and it is not very reliable at this moment, instead I have to connect to the firewall to see what is happening.""The filtering on the unlicensed version of Kerio Control is inefficient - you have to add each website manually, which isn't feasible.""The product's technical support is not good as it used to be.""The trial duration of the product should be extended.""They should improve the remote connectivity feature for users.""I have had a few issues with HTTPS decryption. The solution also does not show the actual user's Internet usage.""The denial of service could also be improved. There recently was a big issue with denial of service attacks and it was a bit laborious."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "They support either annual licensing or hourly. At the time of our last negotiation, it was either one or the other, you could not mix or match. I would have liked to mix/match. "
  • "I would advise taking into account the existing number of devices and add a forecast of the number of devices to be added in the coming year or two, to obtain better pricing."
  • "It is a very straightforward licensing model that is based on the number of assets you are discovering and managing with the solution."
  • "The licensing and costs are straightforward, as they have a baseline of 100 workloads (number of instances) within one license with no additional nor hidden charges. If you want to have 200 workloads under Dome9, then you need to take out two licenses for that. Also, it does not have any impact on cloud billing, as data is shared using the API call. This is well within the limit of free API calls provided by the cloud provider."
  • "I suggest that you pay attention to the product pricing because while there are no tricks, and the licensing model is transparent, the final numbers may surprise you."
  • "Right now, we have licenses on 500 machines, and they are not cheap."
  • "The pricing is tremendous and super cheap. It is shockingly cheap for what you get out of it. I am happy with that. I hope that doesn't get reported back and they increase the prices. I love the pricing and the licensing makes sense. It is just assets: The more stuff that you have, the more you pay."

  • "The price is inexpensive."

  • "There is a yearly upkeep fee."
  • "My advice is to use your own hardware, and do not use theirs."
  • "It is a good fit for SMBs because of its maintainability. When you want to keep your costs low, then Kerio Control is a very good solution. It's not an expensive product that is well integrated. It has a complete set of features within it that make it a very strong product."

    Reviews from Real Users

Here is some feedback from some of our users who are currently using the solution:

PeerSpot user Brian C., Senior Technology Specialist, VP at Unified Technology Solutions, writes "It is very comprehensive and simple. It has all the active protections. It's updated. We love that you can set how often it is updated so you can work on what is right for you. A large company with a lot of bandwidth can update the virus definitions and security definitions hourly, if they want. A smaller site that's remote, where maybe updating the definitions will eat into the bandwidth, we can schedule those more to go later at night. It's very flexible and works for us in all types of situations. This is great because then we don't have to learn seven different products to be able to work with seven different scenarios."

Andy D., IT Manager at Flare Technologies, praises how easy it is to use and says, "One thing we use quite a lot, as well, is the DHCP Server, because we do a lot of work where all our devices need to have static IP addresses. Rather than going around and configuring every box, we do it all through DHCP reservations. It's easier. We've got a record of it. We can manipulate it if we need to change something or change some hardware. It's all easy. Even guys who are not used to using it can pick it up quite quickly."
