We performed a comparison between Ekahau Site Survey, RedSeal, and Tufin Orchestration Suite based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Ekahau, NetAlly, iBwave and others in Network Modeling and Simulation."I don't handle the software that much. I'll do some of the testing with our CTO. It is primarily him and I. He has commented before that he likes the fact that with two licenses, we can set it up so that when we're on a large facility, he can see where I am and I can see where he is. That's for sure is very handy in large venues."
"Ekahau lets you create heat maps without doing the initial survey. It makes the task easier."
"Ekahau Site Survey is user-friendly."
"I have found the most valuable feature is the RF interference and integration capabilities."
"The troubleshooting tools are the most valuable feature of the solution."
"The planning feature is useful because it's very affordable."
"Ekahau Site Survey is scalable."
"The ability to perform dual-band spectrum analysis while conducting the standard WiFi site survey is a tremendous time saver."
"RedSeal integrates the network and gives us a visual or graphical overview of our network. If an organization is geographically dispersed, for instance, with one office in Canada and one office in the Philippines, the whole network, including all devices, is integrated into RedSeal, and you can see from where the traffic is going in and out."
"This is the only solution in the world that gives you a digital resilience score."
"The most valuable features are network mapping and configuration."
"We've scaled it to hundreds of firewalls."
"Tufin allows our say junior guys to learn how to view policies. It gives them a tool that will help them consolidate and optimize."
"The initial setup was straightforward."
"One of the things that came up this week was the ability to decommission a server, which we thought was interesting. We had a workshop recently that talked about all the things that need to be thought about when managing firewalls. People said, "A lot of times, things get forgotten when you are decommissioning a server." E.g., making sure rules are taken away and taking out the rule set. The fact that there is an automated workload for that can be helpful."
"My team uses it heavily to audit the changes made by junior engineers, going back and figuring out what they messed up, and correcting their mistakes. We generate reports for customer compliance and audits, as well as for regulatory audits."
"The change workflow process is flexible and customizable... If we have a firewall completed and we want to redo it, if we need to re-engineer a particular firewall and open a different destination, we can do that by creating a break-fix... That is one of its useful tools."
"It provides a comprehensive overview of what our network looks like in terms of what is allowed and what is not, then how the traffic' is flowing with the Network Topology Map."
"The stability is bulletproof."
"I wish the solution was better at making different survey modes."
"Ekahau would benefit by making improvements to lag time."
"The report generation has room for improvement and is missing small details."
"The support is an area in need of improvement."
"I am having problems importing maps to Ekahau Site Survey. Importing is one of the first steps in using the solution and it is getting stuck. The problem could be that our maps are large with many layers."
"The new Sidekick is going to support Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E."
"In all of our buildings, whenever we deploy wireless access points, we also have to deploy wireless intrusion detections. The Ekahau Site Survey tool doesn't allow us to differentiate between the access point and the intrusion detection device. That's because they're the same devices, but they're configured differently for the type of usage. That's one area that I would ask them to improve. They should allow the identification of access points versus wireless intrusion detection."
"The information regarding the clients and signal strengths is missing in the Ekahau console."
"Sometimes, it required us to refresh the configuration. When we integrated any of the configurations into the device, sometimes, it could not detect the exact picture of that device. So, we had to reset the device to see that if it was giving true-positive results or false-positive results. In some cases, we were not able to get true-positive results. There was some kind of bug in that version. Its interface is not user-friendly and needs to be improved. It takes time to understand the interface and various options. Skybox has quite a user-friendly interface. They could provide a feature for compliance audit policy if it is already not there. A compliance audit policy ensures that all configurations are based on the best practices standards, such as CIS benchmarks standard or other similar standards. It provides visibility about whether your device configuration is based on best practices or not. Usually, such a feature is provided by other solutions such as Meteor or Tenable Nessus."
"One of the areas of concern is the GUI. It is important to our customers that the GUI looks beautiful. It's a Java Client, so you have a Java dependency."
"The dashboard should be improved to make correlating data easier to do."
"Tufin has come a long way when it comes to visibility. What we would like to see is a little bit more on the discovery level, network discovery, which Tufin does not have today."
"I would like to see more configuration options on next-generation firewalls, defining possible standards for devices."
"Our initial setup was complex from two dimensions, because we were deploying it globally and had to have a centralized view, but a distributed approach. We had it in Asia and North America, causing a slightly complicated approach."
"The interface is like a 1990s kind of thing. It's a little ugly. There are many things that you cannot tweak, little things like the column width and how you display the information. You end up exporting everything to an Excel file and doing your work there."
"We would like to see more in terms of integration with other application types within the context, such as next-generation firewalls or next-generation threat devices that are out there."
"The initial setup can be tough."
"The initial setup was complex. We have a big environment which contributed to the setup's complexity."
"I would like to see visibility into the FW features like IPS/Content Filter policies, the same way it does for FW rules/policies."
