We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Provides good security features.""It can handle API conversions with mapping and transformation rules, simplifying the development process.""When using IBM stacks, IBM App Connect is suitable and integrates well with other IBM products like WebSphere.""I would say that the most valuable feature is the array of connectors and integration tools.""Technical support is good.""The solution is fast and supports Open UI 3.0 certification.""The most valuable feature is the user-friendliness of the application.""It's a powerful application for collaboration. It has many features for customization and integration."

"The Cloud Console for monitoring and troubleshooting data operations.""It is a scalable solution.""Easy integration with Salesforce""Jitterbit provides the ability to quickly map data between files and databases.""Jitterbit handles the most lines of data in a .csv and loads the quickest of any data loader I have tried.""It runs like an appliance and has tremendous throughput.""Integrity, ease of use, user-friendly user interface, and errorless logs are the most valuable features.""It is very easy to build integrations and processes to pull and push data."

"Zapier handles everything under the sun that you would think you need in automation. It is the most mature integration platform and service on the market.""Zapier is user friendly and makes it easy to integrate different tools. It has a drag and drop functionality which makes it easy to connect environments.""The product's initial setup phase was very easy.""There are a few valuable features, like the stability that it comes with and also the number of features that it offers. I've used other services like Pabbly, but they don't offer similar numbers of applications that Zapier has or allows to integrate with – it's maximum.""The product's most valuable feature is automation.""The connection between Facebook lead forms and MailChimp integrations is the most valuable feature.""We find it effortless to set up. We really don't have to do anything other than finding the application in the Zapier catalog. And as long as the application has been re-integrated into Zapier, they're able to then just provide the connection details and hook it up.""What's most valuable in Zapier is its simplicity, seamlessness, and smooth plug-in, so you won't need to build code for every action. I'm not a developer, but I can use Zapier."

Cons
"The interface could be better.""Updates are constantly delayed.""In the next release, I would like to get some quality connectors.""The installation of containers could be simplified, as it currently requires a senior-level installer.""IBM App Connect should improve security features.""They reply in one or two hours at most, but they could be better.""It is not easy to deploy. It requires someone with a high level of knowledge in the solution to deploy it, not just anyone can do it.""IBM App Connect is scalable. From the administration side, they need to improve the RBAC model, as well as the clustering of this product. It will be good if we can start up the cluster, via IBM Connect Console. Some other products like MuleSoft, are providing this type of administration. MuleSoft is easy to use and user friendly."

More IBM App Connect Cons →

"I would like the ability to offer a dedicated cloud version for security.""You need to have some development skills or hire a Jitterbit engineer to make changes.""Its API management capabilities need improvement.""In the past few months, there have been some server downtimes during work hours that have affected some critical scheduled integrations.""Looping through complex data structures can be difficult.""The initial setup can be a little bit difficult.""There were some bugs in the product. For example if you run a delete query and test, it deletes the actual data.""Sometimes we experience disconnections and I have to close all Jitterbit programs."

More Jitterbit Harmony Cons →

"At the moment, they allow a limited number of apps. I look forward to getting more apps for each package.""Being able to share Zaps and organize them with teammates would allow sharing and refining scenarios and even combining steps that require different people's credentials.""Some apps are not available yet. For instance, a connection with Joomla! would be great. In general, all the most-used apps are available, but I bumped into Joomla! with a client.""The pricing of the solution is quite expensive.""It could support various languages along with Python.""System-to-system is fine, but when it comes to system-to-user, where Zapier is helping to communicate to a user, that's a one-way communication. If that user has to perform some action on that notification, the action isn't handled by Zapier. So there's no way to orchestrate that and it's very cumbersome.""The solution does not work properly when we apply filters and we get errors.""The user interface for Zapier could be improved. It also takes some time to sync the data between different environments."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is very expensive if we want to scale."
  • "The price could be better."
  • "The licensing cost for IBM App Connect is very high."
  • "The cost depends upon the consumer."
  • "Initially, App Connect was quite expensive because the cost was based on the number of processors we used. However, it's now based on containers, which means we can be more specific about our consumption and get a better price."
  • "The solution's pricing isn't cheap, but you can get good discounts based on your competitive deal."

  • "Each business needs to determine if it is a mission critical aspect."
  • "The added bonus is that Jitterbit doesn't charge for any data volume/traffic."
  • "I do believe Jitterbit has one of the better pricing and licensing options out there compared to its competitors."
  • "Jitterbit was extremely cost effective for us compared to other options."
  • "The Jitterbit price is based upon endpoints. They also offer ERP connectors with their Enterprise edition"
  • "The solution's cost is mid-ranged compared to other vendors."

  • "There is a free plan that is, of course, limited. However, it allows you to understand and check true scenarios for a while."
  • "Think your Zaps through to make sure you don't use more Zaps than you need."
  • "It's very straightforward licensing. There's only one cost you have to pay, and if you want a relevant pricing plan, I think you have two or three different models or packages which include the number of notifications or Zaps, as they call it, that you can program."
  • "The price of Zapier is approximately $75 monthly."
  • "Zapier is a paid service. Its license renews monthly, and Zapier will downgrade your subscription to the free version when your credit card doesn't have funds. That significantly impacts your service because everything halts completely. Zapier doesn't have any hidden costs."
  • "Per task, there is a monthly plan involving 15 euros...Also, in different forms, they just give you the ability to use different features. They charge 18.58 euros for the first standard plan, which includes 750 tasks. So, it is about 25 cents per task."
  • "It's very affordable."
  • "The least expensive plan is $24 a month, and you can go all the way to $800 a month if you're a huge company using many tasks."

    Overview

Rapidly connect public clouds, private clouds and on-premises application

App Connect Professional is IBM’s cloud integration offering which delivers an integration solution
    • With ease-of-use, flexibility and increased responsiveness to the evolving business needs, while removing the daunting complexities of integration.
    • Provides the powerful combination of a ‘simple integration experience’ for business users looking to automate how their applications talk to each other; coupled with a ‘configuration based integration’ approach for IT.
    • App Connect Professional is for the teams and integration developers who need to solve more complex problems and need powerful tooling for integration scenarios

Open source integration platform designed to handle the most complex integration challenges between legacy, enterprise and On-Demand applications.

Zapier is a tool for primarily non-technical users to connect together web apps.

An integration between two apps is called a Zap. A Zap is made up of a Trigger and one or more Actions or Searches.

Whenever the trigger happens in one app, Zapier will automatically perform the actions or searches in another app in order.

Zaps are very lightweight and easy to set up. Zaps do not import or export old data (they only operate on new items created after the Zap is enabled). Zaps are also not kept in sync ("two way syncing") after the Zap is triggered.

Zaps are deceivingly simple if you're used to dealing with complex and difficult integrations. Their simplicity is what enables anyone to create them.
