We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The ability to design complex data models and equations.""Valuable features include advanced integrated analysis and easy implementation.""The ability to integrate with a great variety of data sources.""I am impressed with the tool's scheduling mechanism, refresh mechanism, and different types of charts.""This has improved our organization by allowing people to see their data and develop visualizations themselves.""The solution is free so that is a good feature.""Data Studio integrates seamlessly with other Google products, and we can use it with other APIs if we like.""I find it favorable regarding speed of development, ease of building, and flexibility."

More Google Data Studio Pros →

"The most important feature of the solution is the ability to run Python-based scripts.""The solution is simple for people from a viewing perspective, not a coding perspective.""The most valuable feature I would say is the flexibility in editing.""The tool helps to catch results and review them."

"I think having the conformed structures makes it a lot easier for end users and pulling reports together.""The most valuable feature of Oracle OBIEE is its ease of use.""Provides good data visualization features, and provides a lot of visualization reports from various data sources.""The setup isn't too difficult.""I like the scheduling feature. It has an inbuilt scheduler which is very good, and it allows us to create agents, and those agents can be scheduled. It's quite flexible in that respect and goes into our IT infrastructure. The outputs are sent encrypted to various endpoints. Some are internal, and some are our clients, and it's encrypted at a high level. I do find Oracle OBIEE flexible. If there is stuff that's not in your model or schema, it's very flexible to create SQL scripts and create the data you want. It's quite nice to create a dashboard in OBIEE, and that's pretty straightforward in the way you drag and drop everything. You can create sections, and you can add elements to your page. That bit of the interface is relatively straightforward.""The most valuable feature is the visualization.""The scalability of the product is good.""A great feature of the solution is its stability."

Cons
"There are issues with integration and I encountered limits and warnings, especially with my pivot table size.""When you physically install a product on one machine instead of the cloud, you have a better visibility, best icon quality, etc.. It's more of an issue with how we are adapting to the transition. We are still in the early moments of using this tool, and we need to go deeper to discover some improvements.""Stability and scalability an be improved for a full ten.""It's not yet a replacement for a complete BI tool.""Panels are not as easy to use as other data extraction UIs.""There is a significant degree of sophistication required to compete with Tableau or Cognos.""Insisting on forums, blogs and community outreach in communications, and posting videos on an established calendar would be useful.""The tool should come up with data modeling layer features that are present in other products like Power BI."

More Google Data Studio Cons →

"Mode Analytics needs to improve the overall user experience.""The data visualization is cumbersome in Mode Analytics. I want the solution to add a map that has an easy interface. The UI is slow sometimes.""The solution could run faster.""I think in terms of User Interface, I would say it can be better."

More Mode Analytics Cons →

"There are a lot of aspects of Oracle OBIEE that are exceptionally complicated, make things unnecessarily difficult for everyone who uses it. In terms of the integrations, Oracle needs to improve a little more, but I believe that they have tried to capture all those issues. The issues we are facing in the Oracle OBIEE 12C versions, in the Oracle Analytical Server Center or Analytical Cloud versions, Oracle has managed to overcome the challenges.""The pricing of the solution should be bettered.""They should develop greater visualization because their visualization isn't industry leading at the moment. The way you pull the data and see the data compared to other platforms, they're lagging a little bit behind. Also, their cost. I've got Oracle account managers trying to persuade me every day to purchase these licenses. Once you purchase OBIEE, then you have to purchase the virtualization and then you have to purchase the mobile license to operate on the mobile. It's really expensive.""It could be more user-friendly. For example, the RPD layer could be more straightforward. From a user's point of view, the visualization, especially the graphs, are not as attractive when compared to other tools like QlikView and Qlik Sense.""One feature I would definitely like to see is the ability to provide the in-memory data. Oracle might have some plugins but, as of now, that feature isn't available out-of-the-box. You might have to purchase that feature.""If the data is large, the dashboard takes a really long time. So, based on the database, if you have around a million cost contacts, the load time is very low, and the dashboard fails.""The development effort takes longer than other BI tools currently on the market.""There are times we have slowness when processing the reports with Oracle OBIEE. Improving the performance would be beneficial."

    Reviews from Real Users

Sandeep V., Process System Engineer at a comms service provider, tells us, “This solution is very easy for people who are building ad-hoc things. It's an enterprise solution so it can be deployed for a lot of users. There are some great new features that come with the 12c like data visualization, desktop BI Publisher, automation, and interactive dashboards. The product has good features. “

A user who is a CEO at a consultancy relates, “The most valuable feature is the visualization. The data warehousing, data storage, and data wrangling are all features that are in there, and it's one of the better products out there. A good thing is that for large datasets, it's very stable, especially when you have an Oracle database.”

A user who is a Principal Business Intelligence Architect at a computer software company suggests, "It is very biased towards Oracle infrastructure. One of the major red flags we have at the moment against Oracle is that it doesn't support deployment on other cloud providers. We're quite heavily vested in AWS as our infrastructure, and Oracle is yet to formally support deploying on those virtual infrastructure instances. That's quite disappointing, and it also cuts them out of over 70% of the market."
