We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"A very comprehensive product; easy to set up and is very user-friendly.""JQL, JIRA Query Language enables me to filter all the issues, display the items as I want.""What I find valuable about Jira is that it's an ecosystem. Sometimes, it does not provide the best in class solutions, but it's so well integrated. You will not have many problems with integration.""Most of my work is keeping track of what's been going on and identifying what is blocking future work. What I like about this solution is you can create a consolidated customized dashboard out of your files to identify what's been going on and identify who has how much data assigned to them.""We have around 2000 plus users, so scale wise, there are no issues. We can easily scale up with multiple users.""I found it super useful, as it is customizable for different teams and users.""I've never had a bug or a bug message that I needed to open a ticket for.""It is a complete solution. It has more features as compared to other tools, especially the open-source one that we use. It is also easy to administer."

"The primary uses for this tool are task delegation, generating reports, and on-time invoices.""It increased productivity and timely delivery of projects within a set budget."

More ProProfs Project Pros →

"Another feature that impressed me is the clear Kanban board, as it provides a clear view of to-to tasks, assuring the team not to forget anything.""Trello is not as complex as most of the other products are.""I can see everything on one page, like sticky notes. It's very, very easy to use and very straightforward.""We found that the solution was available on multiple devices, has a great user experience, is simple to use, and it is available on multiple channels.""Projects do not take as long and meetings take less time, since you know the status of developments or tests.""Project management and work collaboration solution with amazing scalability and stability. Its user interface is modern and easy to understand, with drag and drop functionality.""The solution is very easy to use.""The most valuable feature of Trello stems from the fact of how easy it was with it to see large visual aspects, especially when people were getting their workflow in order."

Cons
"I'd like some more features around software testing. I'd like to see some more stuff done around data testing. That's what I'm most interested in.""There is a difficulty viewing all the attachments because they are shown in one place. I would like attachments to be shown at the comment level.""I would like to see it connecting to Git. That could be useful. We use it for Stash, but I think there is one for Git also. I don't know if it's a plug-in that exists already, but that could be nice.""From a very software-centric or a lead developer standpoint, there should be the ability to work at multiple levels. You have epic stories and use cases or epic stories and tasks. It would be nice to be able to have multiple levels of stories and multiple levels of epics work with it. It's lacking a little bit there, and this is the big thing for me because it makes it difficult to do a real sprint when you're limited to one story per epic. It's really hard to isolate tasks at multiple levels to match the type of use cases you normally do. That's the biggest difficulty. Other than that, they've been improving year to year, and every version seems to have a level of improvement.""I want the tool to integrate connectors.""One major issue that I, and even our business stakeholders, have noticed is related to Epic Link. When Epic Link's background color is a dark color, it effectively becomes unreadable. I wish there was a way for us to change the text color of Epic Link in the Issue Navigator view.""The help desk and services management features are in need of improvement.""Could be more stable with more integrations."

More Jira Cons →

"The timely reminders could be reduced from one mail a day to three mails in a week. This tends to fill up our inboxes a lot."

More ProProfs Project Cons →

"In terms of improvements, adding more artificial intelligence and making it more user-friendly in terms of design could be beneficial.""It would be great if there was a tour for new users to explain how this solution works. Using this solution for the first time can feel complicated.""Being able to export reports from Trello, general reports, or board reports, would improve the solution for me as a manager.""I would appreciate seeing how much time spend on each specific ticket.""Sometimes, I find it challenging to manage the checklists.""Although it has many useful features, the one thing I don't like about Trello is that it constantly sends out unimportant notifications.""The product is not easy to use.""The solution could be priced cheaper."

  • "The licensing model is annoying. They nickel and dime you."
  • "It does not cost that much."
  • "Almost everybody uses JIRA nowadays because it is the most cost-effective solution."
  • "I understand JIRA is quite expensive."
  • "We feel that the product is a good value for the cost."

    Information Not Available
  • "Maybe it would be better if they offered some extra tiers, so you don't have to go all the way up to the pro level."
  • "I use the free version of Trello, which is sufficient for my day to day use."
  • "I am tinkering with the free version."
  • "The free version of Trello covers all of the bases and all of our needs, so there's no cost involved for us. This is surprising for such a quality platform with no limitations on the key functionalities, though it also has a paid version."
  • "Its pricing is good. It is about $6 per license for what we use, but then there are other plans as well, such as $12 a month. I would rate it a nine out of ten in terms of pricing."
  • "The pricing for this solution is reasonable."
  • "We are currently using the open-source option."
  • "Paying for the solution's license is worth it only if our enterprise or organization can use Trello, integrated with some other solution, and we can have good reports."

    Overview

Jira is a powerful cloud- and subscription-based application lifecycle and issue management solution. It is designed to aid users both in project management and in resolving any issues that arise at any point in the software development process. It is especially concerned with easing the ability of developers to collaborate.

    Jira Benefits

Some of the ways that organizations can benefit by choosing to deploy Jira include:

    • DevOps lifecycle visibility and planning. Jira provides application developers with tools that enable them to track and visualize where they are in the development process. This means that a DevOps team can measure their progress at all times. Jira’s roadmapping feature also enables a DevOps team to work more efficiently by setting goals for their projects, keeping them on track. Additionally, they are able to track whether they are meeting the goals that they set for their projects.
    • Regular product updates. Atlassian is constantly updating Jira so that it is continuously evolving into an ever more powerful and user-friendly solution. Users can be sure that the product that they are using is always being tweaked so as to provide them with the best possible project management solution.
    • Flexibility. Jira enables users to customize their workflows and dashboard so that the solution is operating in a way that best matches their needs. Jira can also integrate with more than 3,000 other applications and integrations. Organizations can use it to expand their project management and DevOps capabilities in many different ways.

    Jira Features

    • Security capabilities. Jira is equipped with a number of useful security features. It gives administrators the ability to restrict access to certain tools so that only users who are authorized to complete certain tasks have access to the tools related to the completion of that task. Users can also set default permissions so that only particular users can work on new projects or particular projects.
    • Real-time notification feature. Users can set Jira so that it offers them notifications that contain critical information in real time. It can send users email notifications when pressing issues have been updated. They can also set it to notify them about tasks that may be due, or other similar events.

    • Activity log. Jira has the ability to track any and all changes that are taking place within the software framework. Users can keep a close eye on everything that is going on. This promotes a high level of visibility and can be leveraged to aid developers in their collaboration efforts.

    Reviews from Real Users

Jira is a powerful solution that stands out when compared to many of its competitors. Two major advantages it offers are its workflow engine and its highly customizable dashboard.

Bharath R., the tool implementation and project management lead at a financial services firm, writes, “I feel the strongest feature of Jira is its workflow engine. It empowers us to automate our workflows within our organization. It's the one characteristic of Jira which I think can help any organization, be it in any domain.”

Uday J., a staff engineer at a computer company, says, “Another thing that I like a lot about Jira is that in the dashboard, you can plug the modules that you want. You can enable certain sections. For example, you can show trend history, open Jira tickets, etc. Some of the managers have created a dashboard for each engineer.”

Take one look at your projects page and see all of your projects as they happen. See the status, progress, how much time has been spent, whether your team have questions on anything – all in one quick glance with our simple project management software.

Trello is the visual collaboration tool that creates a shared perspective on any project. Trello’s boards, lists and cards enable you to organize and prioritize your personal and work life in a fun, flexible and rewarding way.
