Appvance IQ Review

Network Emulation allows for performance testing of geographically-distributed users.

Valuable Features:

It is a great performance testing tool. The most valuable feature of the tool is its Avatar technology. Scripting is really fast, compared to other tools.

It works for almost all major protocols, platforms and browsers. It makes complex scenarios simple, and we need minimal custom coding.

It also provides features for Network Emulation, which is quite helpful in testing the performance for geographically-distributed users.

Appvance can provide information from end to end (back-end and front-end), which makes it surpass other tools.

The tool provides protocol level as well as browser level response time. And it can be integrated with major monitoring tools.

As it is a web-based tool,  it makes it easy to access anywhere anytime. All the team members can access the common information easily.

Room for Improvement:

Reporting features can be improved to provide more flexibility, collation, exporting in different formats, etc.

Use of Solution:

4 months

Cost and Licensing Advice:

The tool cost is a bit high, but it is worth it. It saves lots of time and effort.

I would suggest, try the following tools from the HP performance suite.

HP Network Virtualization

HP Service Virtualization

@Dego Caicedo Lescano: Hi, I have tried the HP tools mentioned. They are quite good and have very good feature. But we have to use them along with some other load testing tool. Appvance provides the feature in one common suite.

@Sagar: The price is but more than HP load runner, but it depends how many user licence you are using in Load Runner. Probably, for the same number of users, Appvance and HP LoadRunner will be almost same.

You can have a demo with Appvance team, they are prompt to it. And compare the price and features, they have detailed data on it.
