It also accelerates problem diagnosis by monitoring synthetic transactions across the hybrid environment. Have you ever used this service in your organization?

Dynatrace also has a cloud monitoring product called Gomez and a UEM component that measures real-user experience. I see CA falling off the Gartner leader quadrant in 2013 while AppDynamics and Compuware continue to advance the completeness of their vision. Is CA APM still the right solution for Application Monitoring for the future?

As the inventors of byte code instrumentation, the CA / Wily team continues to experience double-digit growth in our CA APM customer base even after the last Gartner survey. Over 1,000 of these are large Enterprises including some of the largest and most complex Enterprises in the world.

Gartner is recognizing that many small and mid-size businesses (SMBs) are adopting APM and prefering good enough solutions without requiring enterprise class scale and capabilities. Gartner has given MQ leader points for APM benefits specific to these new market players.

The self-learning Application Behavior Analytics engine provides multivariate analysis to find anomalous application behavior automatically and proactively alert IT operators of potential problems that could disrupt performance. The engine automatically mines the vast repository of rich data created by CA APM and, within hours of setup, can start determining anomalous behavior in components, providing a view of potential issues between related components that IT wasn’t looking for.
o New Web-based User Interface provides a modern and intuitive user experience via cross-browser HTML5 and JavaScript-based user interface, making it easier to monitor, triage and diagnose application performance problems. Featuring new layouts, the improved user interface makes it easier to bubble up alerts to IT operators, allowing them to see at a glance potential trouble spots across the entire application environment.
o Browser Response Time Monitor (BRTM) gives visibility into how the Web browser renders Webpages and how much time it time it takes, helping IT identify slow-running components to improve the end-user experience.
o CA Application Delivery Analysis 9.3, which is sold as an add-on capability to CA APM and provides application-aware infrastructure monitoring for any TCP-based application without desktop or server agents.
o Mobile Web Application Monitoring (browser profiles): This capability augments existing capabilities to monitor full page retrieval through mobile applications using browser emulation to identify performance differences in how various mobile browsers process JavaScript and CSS, load images and third-party objects, the number of parallel network connections they open and how they render Web pages.

RE: Gartner MQ in original and reply post... CA has not been evaluated as a leader in the APM space since 2012 and has slipped ever closer to Niche Players category in 2013 & 2014.

Having leveraged CA APM including the ADA add-on for years, we moved to Dynatrace APM after extensive comparison and scoring against 250+ use-cases at my company. Our experience with CA support on APM issues was less than stellar. All too often the solution offered to remediate advertised features required additional purchases w separate infra provisioning to enable each or 'promises' to address in future releases.

Personally, I see CA primarily as an aquistion based company rather than an innovator themselves.
