Lenovo Blade Servers [EOL] Review
We use it as a virtualization server with ESX. We provide telecom services on it.

What is most valuable?

  • FCoE, CPU, and RAM capacity: Requires a low cost for passive jobs in the data center
  • Small rack space: With only 11 units, we can have about 1THz CPU and 3.5 TB memory

How has it helped my organization?

We use it as a virtualization server with ESX. We provide telecom services on it.

What needs improvement?

The storage part of this product needs to be improved. If storage is also attached to this bundle, it would be a good solution for the databases.

In the new version of this product, the IBM Flex System, the storage feature is also available with the CPU and memory.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used this solution for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have not encountered any stability issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

There were no scalability issues.

How is customer service and technical support?

The technical support is very good.

Which solutions did we use previously?

It is my first solution.

How was the initial setup?

Configuring FCoE is complex.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated Cisco UCS and HPE BladeSystem c7000.

What other advice do I have?

This product is now at the end of sale. The IBM Flex System has replaced it. It seems to be a better solution because the storage part is also included in it.
