Sometimes we've encountered bugs, but able to get critical analysis in a fraction of time and run the business better.

What is most valuable?

The features that are most valuable are report and dashboard development, universe layer, ability to connect to a wide variety of data sources, ability to develop robust semantic layer, ability to combine different data sources and data federation.

How has it helped my organization?

Provides a platform for developing reporting that can be used by end users, which will give relevant, consistent and correct results. Also, ability to combine data, I created a report based on SAP data from BW and combined it with data from SQL server to be able to report on the data in a way that would not have been possible to do except with manual steps. The solution I built replaced a manual process that would take 3 weeks and provided an automated solution. We were able to get the critical analysis in a small fraction of time and able to run the business better as a result.

What needs improvement?

Can be a little buggy. As with any system you need to do the work to set up the foundation; nothing is as easy as you install it and all your problems are solved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for 12 years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

No issues with deployment.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Sometimes encounter some bugs. SAP seems to have taken the approach of letting the users test the product lately.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

No - the system is very scalable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I've developed many solutions to replace solutions using Access and Excel.

How was the initial setup?

Initial setup was straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

I've done implementations myself.

What was our ROI?

I'm not sure, as I've been part of projects as a part of the larger organization. In general, it could be very high or very low. I know that BOBJ is costly - so you would need projects to justify the cost.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Not sure haven't been involved in this aspect.

What other advice do I have?

Definitely cost justify it. If you have a lot of manual processes involved in getting the reporting that you need, then this product will definitely help. You can cut out all the manual steps.
