SAP Data Services Review

It offers short development time and pre-built processes for data migration and DQ

What is our primary use case?

Data migration and data quality.

How has it helped my organization?

It offers short development time and pre-built processes.

What is most valuable?

Ease of development.

What needs improvement?

Big data, real-time connectivity without the need to use SAP Replication Server

For how long have I used the solution?

More than five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Excellent too

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Excellent, you build a network of Job Servers to balanced the execution load

How are customer service and technical support?

Local teams always available, plus direct support from Walldorf if required

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

I'm using SAP Data Services since it was an OEM product in Cognos in 1998

How was the initial setup?

Data Services itself, none. The must difficult (kind of) ids to setup the databases connectivity for sources and targets.

What about the implementation team?

In-House

What was our ROI?

Lower time to put applications in Production

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The SAP Data Services EE License has all the additional products for enterprise wide data delivery, like Information Steward, Event Stream Processing, etc.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

None, because other products cannot connect to SAP generating ABAP code to access pool and cluster tables

Disclosure: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.
