Veritas Backup Exec Review

Good Replication and compression features from a simple dashboard

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use for this solution is replication.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the compressor. The compression options are very good.

This solution has a simple dashboard.

What needs improvement?

The price of this solution is a bit high.

Expanding is difficult because if I want to add, for example, a terabyte of data, then I have to buy a disk shelf and it will cost me a lot.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using this solution for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This is a strong, stable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability is good but also limited in that I have to buy a full disk shelf in order to upgrade.

How are customer service and technical support?

This solution has a very good technical support department that is very responsive.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of this solution is complex. On the other hand, the deployment itself was straightforward.

What other advice do I have?

This is a product that I strongly recommend, and I plan on using it for the long term.

I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.
