VMware vRealize Operations (vROps) Review

The capacity planning helps us see down the road, but we lacked documentation at deployment which affected usage

What is most valuable?

The capacity planning: Purchasing hardware takes a long time for us. This way you can get where you're actually going to be at six months down the road.

How has it helped my organization?

We are on an older version. It hasn't improved any mission critical systems.

What needs improvement?

Lack of documentation.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

I wish the documentation was better for the solution. When we first deployed it, there were very few resources online. That's why we don't use it that much.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's fine. It's stable.

How are customer service and technical support?

We have a contact, but we have never used him/her.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We weren't using a different solution.

How was the initial setup?

It was easy to set up.

What other advice do I have?

Use the community. I find it helpful.

I would tell others to avoid version 6.0.2 and go for 6.6. It seems a lot nicer.

Most important criteria when selecting a vendor: reputation.
