Acronis Cyber Protect Stability

It has never really achieved the stability that we wanted. Although we're not sure if that's because of a lack of internal skills and resources, we've never achieved a stable continual process. There have always been challenges and problems.

The solution is stable. Looking at the current technologies in the market, this is the best backup solution. The best advantage of this backup solution is that it is protected by a feature known as Ransomware Protection, which Acronis Cloud offers.

I haven't faced any major stability issues. The daily backup tasks are usually completed efficiently, taking less than half an hour for server backups. However, there are occasional performance concerns, especially when using the UI for tasks like exploring and searching in Gmail. The UI responsiveness could be improved, as there have been instances of non-responsiveness.

Your backups are always limited to the amounts of bandwidth that you've got available. The bigger the bandwidth you've got, the smoother the solution works. You get to set the frequency and the times to run your backup. You can run your backups either daily, weekly, monthly or on an adhoc basis.

I have a lot of customers who never call me with complaints about Acronis. I proactively reach out and ask if they are having any issues with Acronis; they always tell me that the solution is very stable and that the installation, scheduling, and verification processes all work as expected. Acronis updates are solid and address compatibility issues and error correction.

I wouldn't say we had stability issues as much as I would say that we have errors that may or may not affect the backup. For instance, we were backing up a computer that uses Windows 7 Embedded. It warned me that this would probably not work, but it did. I don't know if that's a stability issue or if that's just making sure of backup success.

It makes a full image of the hard drive. If a hard drive fails, all we do is recover to another hard drive. We just pop in the hard drive and that's very fast as well. Speed and the ease in which we recover full hard drives are valuable features.

Once I learned how to use it, I've had no issues with it. I had a little bit of a learning curve in the beginning, but it's my own fault because I didn't read the documentation before I started. I would say the product is easy to use, but I would recommend that anybody using it read the documentation from end to end first.

We have some problems when we are backing up using Acronis Backup. However, I cannot be certain it is the solution or our servers. I cannot say exactly if Acronis Backup's performance is good or not. The solution is able to detect if there are errors and it gives us an alert warning. This is a good thing because it is able to catch the error before it causes problems before the backup is running.

Yes definitely – back in the early days it was almost impossible to get a week’s worth of backup data without having to start all over again. And by that I mean uninstall, reinstall the whole product. It suffers from these issues less now but that is because we have learned which way to deal with the software and how best to make it work in our environment. It does not do “what it says on the tin” at all. You have to work it out yourself.

The stability is really good. We had a server that crashed with a ransomware issue, however, we still had the protection of the backup software, and the ransomware did not interact with the backup. We were able to back up everything and remove the backup from the affected server. From that experience, I would say the solution is good and stable.
