It can only be scaled to the extent of the licenses we procured.

But we had some issues compressing data as our on-site storage was utilized very quickly.

There are two administrators and 98 end users working on the production service.

In my organization, every person uses Acronis Backup. Also, we are providing services to our customers too. So, approximately more than 1,000 customers are using products from Acronis.

The tool's scalability allows us to cover remote locations, desktops, and laptops. This includes more than a hundred endpoints. The application's scalability has proven to be effective, allowing us to manage backups for both servers and endpoints, even when they are not on the local network. Currently, we have approximately 60 servers and over 100 endpoints, specifically for remote locations.

Our clients for Acronis Cyber Protect are mostly enterprise businesses.

I rate the solution a nine out of ten for scalability.

I would rate its scalability capabilities eight out of ten. I believe that for medium-sized organizations, the solution should suffice unless there are specific reasons indicating otherwise. However, for larger cloud-based organizations, it's uncertain, especially if they are relatively new to the analytics box backup segment or lack experience in providing unlimited storage licenses. Additionally, larger organizations often have more stringent compliance requirements, which may not be fully met by the product.

I'd rate scalability ten out of ten. It easily extends. 

We are resellers with a couple of customers. 

This solution is exceptionally scalable. If you're a customer and you're using 800 gigs at the moment, we will allocate a slot for one terabyte for you. We'll give you a 20% cushion and you'll pay only for what you use. 

Acronis Backup is not scalable.

We have 10 people in my organization that use the solution.

We are a large company, we are the Steel Authority of India Limited. We span across all of India. We are the biggest steel manufacturers in the country, we have more than 60,000, people working in the company. Generally, I am using Veeam, but there may be other parts of the organization still using Acronis Backup.

We have around 90 users in our organization whose Office 365 data is being backed up via Acronis. It is a very scalable solution but depends upon the business requirement. I rate its scalability as a nine.

I would rate the tool an eight out of ten. Acronis is an agent-based solution and it is scalable. We have around 50 customers.

We don't have issues with scalability. We're mostly selling to SMB customers, not enterprises. It can scale for their purposes. Typically companies in the category we work with have 50 to 100 users, or maybe a maximum of 200 users.

Acronis is a scalable solution, there are no worries about scalability. They always listen to thousands of customers of all sizes. A combination of high-performance computing, universal software-defined storage, and flexible networking allows you to grow the business without complexity concerns. 

The solution is scalable and can be deployed on over 1,000 servers.

The solution is scalable and as you grow, you just move to a different price tier. We have one person monitoring the solution. We hope to increase use in the future. 

Our facility is small such that scalability is not a problem.

Stability's not an issue for me because I'm a software developer, kind of a one-man band here, and so I have a server and a number of work stations. So far, I've used this for three months with one server and one workstation, and I haven't run into problems. Its performance seems to be speedy relative to other tools that I've used; they seemed to be quite slow. My impression is that it's quick but I haven't really benchmarked that.

On my servers, for example, I have seven disk drives and I schedule a backup. I finally figured out I should do a backup of each disk drive separately and I scheduled them an hour apart. The backup of a 1 TB disk drive happens well within the hour. It's not an issue anyway because if you schedule seven backups to go in order, they only run one at a time. I had huge amounts of disk drives connected to one server; it would take quite a while, but I don't see a way around that.

Some people use an appliance to perform backups. If you use an appliance on your network, you can have a problem with network usage. By an appliance, I mean a set of disk drives that are in their own little box; it's called network-attached storage and that's what most people use for backup. I would imagine it would perform well, but I can't prove it.

One feature that makes backups easy, once I understood it, is you can set up a backup plan that says, in effect, “backup to the W drive”, where W is the drive letter. You can say, “every Sunday backup to the W drive” and that's a backup plan. Then, you can go to as many work stations as you want and you can tell them to backup to the W drive as defined on that work station. I can use the same backup up plan for five work stations with five different backup drives, as long as I give them all the same label. It makes it very easy to set this up. I can see how this could be rolled out to a much larger installation than mine.

The product is scalable. 

No, the application has very good support. The only difficulty is in the security of each computer login. In general, the application is excellent.

We did not experience any scalability issues. The Universal Restore allows you to scale up and down, which is fine.

I would rate it high in that department.

I rate the tool’s scalability a nine out of ten since it is cloud-based. The biggest difficulty is how different backups created by different user accounts cause segregation. It causes issues sometimes in restoration. The solution is suitable for SMEs. It gets quite difficult to manage over a certain size.

We have 10 licenses for Acronis Backup, which allows ten users.

We are on a three-year contract that will end next year. We might renew with an additional license.

It's very easy to add more machines. You can install as many as your license allows.

Our installation base is not very large, at 20 servers, and 15 to 20 workstations, although I have also worked with the virtual hosts and virtual machines. From what I have seen, the scalability has been very good. The majority of our clients are medium-sized businesses.

Scalability is great. All you need is a license and it will handle up to a 1,000 machines.

I keep five months of full images of the server. And my work station, I keep three copies, three months' worth. And I backup my data separately. All the data is on a server and nothing is on the computer.

I backup data daily, five copies of it. Every five days, I overwrite the first one. So I've got five days of data, and three days of images and of the workstation, and five copies of the server image. I do it automated every month and I've never had a problem.

Scaling was something we wanted; it was a customer requirement. What was needed was for the end-user to recover what they wanted instantly without using the admin console and by only using their agent UI. We found it could scale well.

The product isn't very scalable. It's an aspect they could improve upon. Right now, it's limited.

It seems like I haven't had any issues since I added the RAM to the Management Server, but it does seem to start being sluggish because I have it running on a Windows 7 machine. So, I'm considering trying to move it over to a true server (either a 2008 or 2012 Server) and then, to update that. However, it hasn't been an issue since I added the RAM. We added three physical machines that we're backing up now. It was super easy. Once we had the lessons, added that in and got those backed up really quick. That was really nice. We know, at any point, if we have a VM or a physical server that we need to add to make sure it's getting backed up, we know exactly what we need to do and that it's very capable of handling it.

The solution is scalable. Of course, we need to buy the license. That said, it is not the same cost that you need to pay as you would if you were buying a new one. If you already are running an Acronis Backup version, getting an expansion is less than when you're buying a new license. 

There are some clients that have embedded licenses for 100 users or so.

Any time that you do a backup that's not at the local level, it's online, you're at the mercy of whatever your connection is. If your connection is not good or stable, then you're going to have issues.

The issue is, when I did an offline backup - I don't know if it was my connection or because of how the software works or how it handles its packets - to upload the initial backup up took something like four days. That's a long time to me.

After the initial backup is done, when it does its daily backup offsite, it only takes about 20 minutes, 30 minutes. It's normal for it to take longer for the initial backup because you have to put all new information up there. After that you're just changing, it's a just a differential, so that's normal. When I'm doing the backup to the local, after the initial one, it takes about six minutes to do the backup.

The problem is that to get that initial thing done is painful. After that, the backup works okay.

It is scalable, but we have very few people who use this solution. We use it for very basic things. 

I am yet to explore it in terms of scalability in the enterprise environment. It is mostly being used in small companies.

Scalability is impressive, it should take care of us far into the future.

Our customers are impressed with the scalability and richness of the different functions. We have only used twenty to thirty percent of what could be used.
