What is most valuable?

Features with the most value are Instant VM Recovery, SQL Explorer and Exchange Explorer. Allowing our Veeam Agents access to the repositories for backups is another big plus.

How has it helped my organization?

With moving the Veeam server to a physical server and creating a Proxy server on each of the hosts we are able to leverage SAN based backup which is very fast. Jobs are completed overnight and never run in to the business hours.

What needs improvement?

Physical backup is always where room for improvement could be but Veeam has always stated they are not going in that direction, however, with Veeam Endpoint Backup physical server backup is possible.

What is most valuable?

ZVR is very simple to setup and administer. Out of the box it just works and allows me to set my replication source and destinations and nearly forget it. Our RPOs are generally 5 seconds on a replicated base of 4Tb so we have only a very small data loss in the event of needing to recover. Now that v4.5 has been released, I have the ability to recover individual files in the event of accidental deletion or even encryption by Ransomware. This ensures that data is easily recovered no matter when it is deleted, ensuring that files that have been created and deleted in the same day and prior to backup are recoverable easily. And, perhaps more importantly, out of the box ZVR allows me to test the failover whenever I want to... more»

What is most valuable?

We were looking for a product with Automatic backup replication and a product that would support MSP rebranding.

How has it helped my organization?

I wouldn't use the term 'improved' as the product implementation in the end was a complete failure. The implementation however did serve the purpose of allowing us to grow our BDR service offering from a technical perspective by seeing how... more»

What needs improvement?

The vendor support service. Operating out of India and not really taking into account the time difference for support tickets meant we were getting responses to our support requests at midnight, when no one was at work to be able to address... more»

What is most valuable?

Enables you to spin-up VMs with screen shots, sent by email (when it works). This helps us validate a good backup. Nothing else positive to add.

How has it helped my organization?

Easy to manage and work with. I would say it did not improve our organization, and in fact has created a challenging, tedious, high maintenance solution if you factor in DR testing, and local recovery performance is abysmal. Clients are not... more»

What needs improvement?

* No Hyper-V integration * VirtualBox performance is terrible, although KVM is now rolling out * Large agent to install on each VM * Lack of VLAN support * Cloud recovery is missing flexibility and the ability to create virtual firewalls or... more»
