The solution covers specific versions of Windows and Linux, and it would be good if other Linux versions or some special appliances could work in the Acronis Disaster Recovery environment.

The customization part on the infrastructure side requires a certain amount of time for URL-based forwarding because the server is assigned to a DNS. Whenever the DR happens, the new IP comes into the picture so they need to get a load balancer before the DR infrastructure, so all the traffic goes to the local data center. When there is no DR, and if there's a disaster in the local data center then that route gets chopped off and then the new routes open, which is forwarded to the DR location. Hence, the solution can be improved by including a load balancer. It becomes very easy to give only one IP to the interface and the users regardless of what you have in the packet and which IP is running the system.

I haven't identified any specific areas for improvement in the product so far. Everything has been working smoothly for us, and I haven't encountered any issues that need immediate attention. However, I wish the Disaster Recovery system could do more, like integrating irregularity features and combining VLP functionalities. It would be great if it also handled endpoint protection, so we don't need another vendor for emails. If one product could do all this, it would be easier to manage and might give us better pricing options. This would benefit both us and our customers, and the company could grow by offering a wider range of services.

The documentation can be improved, this would have helped. There are certain things that we misconfigured. If we had a clearer understanding of how the backup worked, it would have been a better backup policy.

Acronis needs to implement some kind of Real Time Backup or continuous backup feature.

If Acronis can launch a Real Time Backup/Byte level replication with Instant Recovery (High Availability), it can compete with any High End DR solution available in the market.

In the future, I would like to see cross-platform support.

You should be able to better manage the cost involved in transferring data when there are cross-platform activities.
