Actian Pervasive Data Integrator [EOL] Valuable Features

EM
Custom Solutions Developer/Technical Architect at a tech vendor with 51-200 employees

The most valuable feature is the ability to integrate data from various sources and targets such as SQL Server, Salesforce.com, JD Edwards, etc. For example, you can send data back and forth, to and from Salesforce.com and JD Edwards seamlessly and effortlessly.

The data mapping is also very straightforward and intuitive, where you can match the fields without having to write extra lines of code.

  • The product provides lot of flexibility in terms of integrating with Java and handling custom components needed for ETL.
  • We have often noticed that a complex requirement can be handled through Java code called from PDI, if the feature does not exist in PDI.
  • This provides more flexibility to the developers to control the flow and interface with external applications.
  • The lookup feature is really useful and performs well.
  • The product also has a lot of pre-defined event handlers which saves a lot of time.

The features most valuable to me are the SID logic and the lookup logic. Even though it has only a few features in comparison to Informatica, it is nonetheless a robust product.
