Review of Tufin
Apr 04 2019
What is most valuable?SecureChange is the most interesting part. It all comes down to having the user request firewall access and SecureChange, based on workflows, takes care of it, sending two or three emails to the… more»
How has it helped my organization? With path analysis, you can specify a source, a destination, and a port and it will tell you whether it's blocked or not, and where; which firewall is doing the blocking or the allowing, or whatever… more»
What needs improvement? The visibility that Tufin provides us with is improvable. The interface is like a 1990s kind of thing. It's a little ugly. There are many things that you cannot tweak, little things like the column… more»
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? It's not that expensive, except for Security Groups. For us, just the Security Groups were about half of the total price. The total was about €500,000 a year, of which €200,000 was for Security… more»
What other advice do I have?Don't bother with the web interface, calm down, don't worry, everything will be fine. They will improve it. The rest of it, I don't have any issues. They're technically prepared, the tool does its… more»
Which other solutions did I evaluate? We could only test AlgoSec for a little while. Our group is part of a larger group of products. When we were doing our PoC for AlgoSec, we were told to stop. The decision was made to move to Tufin… more»
Review of FireMon

It helps reduce the complexity of the firewall rule set, but we need the end-to-end mapping feature working
What is most valuable? The policy overview is the most valuable feature for each of the firewalls that we manage right now, as it reduces the complexity of the firewall rule set.
How has it helped my organization? The firewall administrators have gained time back by using this tool, simplifying the firewall rule set. The solution helps to clean up rules which have not been reviewed… more»
What needs improvement? The AWS integration is still not mature for us to use. It is just not ready for our use case for AWS connectivity. Therefore, it does not provide us with a single pane of… more»
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? We don't license all of the devices in our network, so it does not provide us with a comprehensive visibility of all devices in a hybrid network at this time. I'm not… more»
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We didn't use a previous solution.
What other advice do I have? Each deployment scenario will be unique. A robust proof of concept is key to make sure it will meet all of your intended use cases. The solution is managing 25 percent of… more»
Which other solutions did I evaluate?During our proof of concept phase, we also evaluated Tufin, AlgoSec, and Skybox. We chose FireMon based on a few different things, but the main one was that they were a… more»
Review of Palo Alto Networks
Aug 21 2019
What is most valuable? The dashboards are very good on Palo Alto. They offer a centralized dashboard for managers as well.
What needs improvement? The solution needs to improve its pricing model. Panorama needs to work on its configuration issues. They should also focus on firewall management. Many clients have multiple firewalls, so Palo Alto should offer better management of them. They could model themselves off of AlgoSec, or maybe FireMon which are other very good firewall management tools.
What other advice do I have? Most of our clients deal with the on-premises deployment solution, as cloud solutions in Egypt can occasionally be insecure. I would advise anyone looking to implement the solution really focus on sizing before beginning the implementation. I would rate the solution nine out of ten.
