Hornetsecurity Altaro VM Backup Other Solutions Considered

We looked at several different solutions in the industry, and some other ones work very well. One of the biggest things that made the difference at that point was the cost. Altaro was a huge discount compared to the next solution we were looking at, so much we wondered, what could be the catch.

Once we downloaded the trial version and used it, we were hooked. Nothing was missing, and we got it all for a much better deal.

The other solutions that we evaluated were Carbonite, Veeam, Acronis, and Symantec.

This was four years ago and I can't recall the name but they were never as great as Altaro. I won't look back at what I have chosen as a VM backup software.

We evaluated Symantec, Veritas, and Veeam.

Before finalizing with any other solution, it is better to evaluate the trial version of Altaro, see the results, and proceed (as the TCO is lower and ROI is much higher).

We have used a well-known product a couple of times but, that solution has become unstable these days. Also, it was a nightmare to for us to support and even their technical support did have problems solving issues permanently. It was not a cheap one either.

Veeam, but it was too complex for what I needed.

We did. My company used Veeam, PHD Virtual and Unitrends software solution before. We looked for a cheaper Hyper-V backup solution, and Altaro is the best choice for this purpose.

Yes, we used Altaro Hyper-V Backup Unlimited Edition with 30 day trial period. After that we bought it for multiple hosts.

I have evaluated many solutions but I am really working with solutions that work for my clients and make sense for a particular application.

As noted above, at that time, automated backups for Hyper-V were not in great supply. Veeam was too bloated and required a lot of work to test and deploy.
