Amazon API Gateway Other Solutions Considered

We use API tools from Amazon, Azure, and sometimes GCP depending on where the customer workloads are. For Azure, we use Azure EDP management, and for Amazon, we use generative VPN management. Most of our requirements revolve around Azure APM management and AWS APM engine.

The features we look at are mostly similar across the board. There aren't many differentiating factors. For example, in terms of orchestration, Azure offers step functions or Lambda functions, which are available in AWS as well.

The customers tend to use the native features unless they need to work with different API gateways for scalability reasons. The only issue we've noticed is a lack of awareness when it comes to partner collaboration. Customers prefer using separate API gateways for scalability. Apart from that, feature-wise, most API management solutions offer similar features and learning resources on how to use them.

We primarily use Amazon products because they align well with the solutions provided by our third-party vendors. This allows us to keep our data within our cloud while ensuring seamless integration without exposing sensitive information.

Huawei has their own version of API Gateway, which is equivalent or better than AWS in some cases. It is pre integrated with standard security features.

I have worked with various API gateways. For example, I have experience with the Azure API gateway and also the AWS API gateway. However, we are currently planning to migrate to an enterprise-level solution, so we are evaluating MuleSoft's Telecom API.

The simple API setup is good enough for us, but we are looking for more advanced features in enterprise-level API management. We are planning to transition to a different API gateway.

We evaluated Microsoft Azure. We did a comparison. We decided to use all services from Amazon, like database deployment, etcetera. It was logical to continue using Amazon API Gateway because it fits better.

I was looking for information regarding AWS API gateway and MuleSoft because I am looking for some different arguments to put on the table for a comparative for a customer. In my opinion MuleSoft is a tool that lets you to manage all the life cycles for the API. I think it's a more complete solution. In AWS you don't have the capabilities to manage all the life cycle for the API's. Also you don't have other capabilities for implementing different integration patterns. I think that's the main difference that I found between these tools.

We had our on-premises solution, and we also evaluated Apigee from Google. Ultimately, we felt that AWS, for our use case, was the best option. The main reasons are the ease of use and pricing.

We didn't evaluate other options because our environment is in Amazon, so it didn't make sense to use another solution.

We evaluated other options like Microsoft. They are very similar, but because of our customers, they insist on using Amazon.

We compared Google APIG to the Amazon APIG. The Google APIG is more for the open banking APIWSA2. The Google APIG are more advanced in terms of the open banking API compared to the AWS API gateway.
