Amazon AWS Implementation Team
The deployment timeframe typically varies based on the complexity of the transition. For instance, migrating a large server with databases requires thorough planning and preparation, which may extend the deployment time. However, when utilizing AWS services, the platform itself doesn't significantly extend deployment time. Nonetheless, planning remains crucial, especially for substantial workloads. Smaller transitions can be executed more swiftly, although testing and other adjustments may still consume time, given the shift to a new environment. The initial steps involve identifying the specific requirements for transitioning our workload. We then proceed by selecting the most appropriate AWS service that aligns with our needs and considering the relevant service-level agreements. Subsequently, we create a detailed runbook outlining the transition process, including any potential drawbacks or challenges. Finally, we execute the migration according to the established plan. We currently use a consultant for this task, but it's feasible to handle it in-house. The deployment responsibility typically falls on a team of three to four individuals, depending on the nature of the workload being migrated.

We did it in-house. We learned and upgraded our skills ourselves.
We had a team of admins and developers for the deployment process.
View full review »The setup process was facilitated through CI/CD pipelines. Initially, we used the AWS CI/CD pipeline but later transitioned to GitLab because we encountered limitations with certain AWS CI/CD use cases. In GitLab, we found more flexibility, enabling us to execute specific functions or steps independently. In contrast, AWS CI/CD typically follows a more rigid sequence, where phases are executed sequentially from initialization to build and deployment.

Initial setup environment helped by AWS free . We were able to handle every aspect of the implementation in-house. We didn't need any consultants or integrators. We used our systems manager so that all of our deployments - including environments and keys - can be stored on our SSM. A lot was automated as well.

It was pretty much done by our in-house developers.
View full review »The amount of people we need for the deployment depends on the use case and what type of business operations you are running. You can start with one resource based on the requirements and you can add the people as you need them. The majority of the people you will need will be for DevOps and you can scale your team as per your requirements. You can start with one at the beginning stage but you could end up needing a hundred thousand people but this depends on the business growth and many factors.
