What is most valuable?Arcserve is user-friendly and allows us to back up all the servers and centrally manage them.
How has it helped my organization?It has improved our disaster management. If necessary, we can restore all our databases and applications. No matter what happens, we have backup.
What needs improvement?* We cannot restore each user's mailbox. Each user's mailbox should be independently restorable. * This solution is very slow. If you select all of the servers, it runs for a long time. Even a full night is not enough to perform a backup. It needs to be faster. * We are using a Linux server and a… more »
What other advice do I have?I would rate Arcserve at five out of 10. It's slow, and we cannot restore each user's mailbox individually.

What is most valuable?High availability.

What needs improvement?The product requires too many VMs as intermediaries.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?Pricing is very expensive and licensing is on an annual basis, but this is the norm for a lot of providers today.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?Yes, our old solution used tape backups and didn't allow HA for secondary sites, active-passive, etc.
What other advice do I have?Go with Veeam. Veeam is cheaper and more flexible and uses few VM intermediaries.

What is most valuable?Cross-platform support: Hyper-V can be restored in VMware and vice-versa. True online High Availability of Physical and Virtual Machine; full system.
How has it helped my organization?It can protect DC and DR both, and it is very helpful for DC-DR replication.
What needs improvement?All Windows, virtualization and Linux VM systems.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?It's simple and okay.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?Yes, HP Data Protector and Symantec, Double-Take, and all the software's functions which can be done by one Arcserve UDP.
What other advice do I have?Just use Arcserve UDP for Backup, Replication, and a High Availability solution. It is one software and one console for all kinds of data protection.

How has it helped my organization?Disk space savings with a higher number of protected data and better performance due to the absence of agents in the virtual servers.
What needs improvement?Replication cloud.

What is most valuable?Data store deduplication, which saves space on storage and time to backup.
How has it helped my organization?Compliance on information security and reliability.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?You should take a look at Arcserve UDP and compare it to some other solutions.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?Previously, we were using HPE Data Protector, however, it was a too complicated and outdated interface, so we moved over to this solution.
What other advice do I have?It is a very good product for most of the organizations.

It allowed me to build a low-cost DR site that replicates from the backup, but it currently lacks SIFS (NetApp or EMC) support from the UDP console.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?I used Backup Exec before. I switched because UDP is agentless, which works well for my VMware backup to disk, as well as being easy to sync with the remote site
