Arcserve UDP Pricing

MukundKambli - PeerSpot reviewer

The price is based on the number of sockets. We use a four-socket price that includes two servers and the cost is $4,375. The solution licensing is not cheap but I would say it's reasonable compared to other solutions.

The licensing cost is for one year. There are not any hidden costs involved in the pricing model of the solution.

The tool’s pricing is on the higher side. However, from the system integration and services point of view, the customers are not bothered by the pricing.

The backup recovery market is very, very competitive. It's a mature market, though it is going very well. Customers compare any product’s pricing to Veeam’s pricing. Veeam, being the leader, has pretty competitive pricing.

The solution is very expensive. The market has more expensive tools like Rubrik, but Arcserve is also expensive. Our customers pay a yearly licensing fee. I rate the pricing a nine out of ten.

In comparison to other vendors, it is a low-cost solution. The licensing cost is easily adjustable based on the number of computers subscribing to the solution.

I rate the product’s pricing a six out of ten. The solution is not very expensive, but it is not cheap. Commvault and Veritas are more expensive. Arcserve UDP is moderately priced.

There are annual subscription fees and there are licensing costs for three computers. It is an expensive solution.

I rate the price of Arcserve UDP a two out of five.

The product is available at a favorable price point. The problem is only with the security part of the tool, so a user needs to trust the solution to be able to restore the data. Some of our customers have seen that due to some issues in the area of security, there were some problems in the restoration part.

Users can either make monthly or yearly payments towards the licensing charges of the solution. My company sold it to customers who used to make upfront payments on a yearly basis towards the licensing costs of the product.

I rate the product price a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price.

The only additional cost involved is in the area revolving around the technicians needed to be at present for the customers since they are blocked by the technicians from Arcserve's support team.

The retail fee is $1300 for a year for one server. Other than that, there is just the cost of your hardware.

I don't pay monthly. I purchase the solution outright and use it until the license is done. I get my money's worth.

It is approximately $400 to purchase a virtual service outright.

Its price seems reasonable. Its price is average as compared to the other products I've looked at.

We have a three-year license right now. There are no other costs beyond the standard licensing fee.

We only have the maintenance of three standard UDP licenses. Each license is 50 Euro. There are some additional costs for the storage and software but it has nothing to do with the UDP.

It is a bit pricey, considering the reliability problems. If the tool worked flawlessly, the price would be fair, even cheap. However, pricing here in Brazil is similar to tools like Veeam.

So, considering the issues we face, the price difference doesn't justify using Arcserve. In my opinion, it's in the mid-to-high price range.
