I was not involved in the deployment of the product. The setup process is easy if you are experienced with the tool.

My company follows the ITIL process to deploy the product. I cannot go through each and every step. The framework during the product's deployment was an ITIL framework.

In my company, there are other technologies apart from Arista Networks Platform that are being managed by the same teams. In short, there is no specific team to just manage Arista Networks Platform.

The initial setup is not difficult, mainly because almost all of our network engineers have experience with Cisco, and much of the configuration is very similar. Thus, the administration and control of the networking with Arista is easy for us.

One feature that would make the setup easier would be more loopback commands in the CLI, as Cisco currently has much more support than Arista for loopback commands. Loopback commands help us troubleshoot problems in the network, and having better functionality in this area would help.

The initial setup is pretty straightforward and simple. For roughly around 50 switches, you could deploy them in a day with the manpower of maybe two people.

Even for probably a network which is moderately sized, a couple of admins would do the job in terms of maintenance. They could deploy and just hold it. If you have a lot of changes to make every now and then they can handle it. That part would completely depend upon the operations that are carried out.

You still talk to the customer, you make a design, you get the approval, and all of that. However, once you have all of that, if you take that implementation, you're looking at probably, one day to one-and-a-half days just to configure everything. The configuration is very important.
