The solution is not cheap. My understanding is that it is expensive and an investment.

The licensing is almost the same as Cisco ISE. It is a little less, actually. It is a fair price. The only thing is all these products know each other's prices so they keep theirs pretty close to the same. Aruba will typically be a little less than Cisco to make it seem that they show benefit on the cost. However, it depends on how your terms are with the partners. You can maybe get a better discount. It is how your relationship is the principal that dictates the price. We have a fair discount, for example.
Support may be an additional cost.
View full review »You can get Aruba ClearPass either where you purchase it outright or you can be subscription-based. The cost will vary according to what is selected, but it's licensed per device. For example, for a hundred users or a hundred device license, it would cost approximately $2,000.

I do not deal with the licensing aspect of the solution.
View full review »The product is very costly, starting at a minimum of 500 users. No small or medium-sized business can go with it as a standard organization has more than 500 users.

View full review »On a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is too expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a six out of ten. So, the price could be lower. The solution has a yearly based licensing cost attached to it.
View full review »The licensing cost for Aruba ClearPass is a bit expensive. Its pricing could be better. The license costs around $125,000 for the perpetual license and support for one year. Aruba can give you a license with five thousand endpoint access and one thousand five hundred onboard licenses on one hundred endpoints and two controllers.
View full review »Though I don't remember the pricing model of the solution, I can say that the package or licensing model offered for the solution is a permanent one.
The solution is costly. We have purchased its perpetual license. It is affordable for enterprise businesses. The medium-scale companies find it expensive. I rate its pricing an eight.

There are licensing options but this is a very expensive product.
I can't give the exact cost of Aruba ClearPass because that's handled by the purchasing team, but it's on the cheaper side, and on a scale of one to five, I'm rating the cost a four.
Initially, the pricing for the solution is expensive in terms of deployment, but in the long term, for example, after more than five to ten years, the operational cost incurred by the company is quite affordable because you don't have to renew the license. It's a one-time purchase.
My company only uses the standard license for Aruba ClearPass.

View full review »Aruba ClearPass has permanent licenses. You purchase it one time and this license is yours. You don't need to refresh it for five years, et cetera. They have a couple of licenses for enabled features with not only one license.
View full review »The licensing model wasn't explained terribly well to us so we vastly under-purchased. This has unfortunately caused us a bit of trouble over the last year. The licensing numbers are based on unique connected authenticating endpoints per day, averaged over 7 days. When we purchased the product we were under the impression that the licensed nodes were concurrent devices, of which we typically see 8000+ in the middle of the day. Our licensing ended up being 19000+ unique devices and we’ve had to put together a cluster of 4 ClearPass nodes to accommodate this.

The licensing model is very straightforward. There are two types of licensing for Aruba ClearPass, a perpetual license, and a subscription. Both of them are straightforward. We don't need to read an ordering guide, it's very clear.
